Was recommended I take an AREDS vitamin

Was recommended I take an AREDS vitamin to slow down macular degeneration.  Anyone have experience with this therapy?  The vitamin is over-the-counter, a little expensive and not covered by prescription insurance.  I am senior age and understand my problem is common in the aging.

Look on this page under Top Eye Care Answerers. Click on my name and the link to my home page. Look under All Journal Enteries (there are 31)  scroll through them till you get to the article on macular degeneration prevention. Read it carefully. It discusses the AREDS studies (which is one multivitamin per day and 2 Preservision AREDS 2 supplements/day)
