Washing out of eyes

Was just brushing my teeth there and I felt a wet sensation near my eye. I doubt it was toothpaste but thought I'd wash it out regardless. Due to a bad water supply I cannot do so with tap water but I have been told that eye drops for dry eyes are sufficient for cleaning out the eye. Would these drops be sufficient for cleaning the eye out if  toothpaste did get in? I know it sounds like a minor complaint but I have had trouble in the pat with them so am very conscious of looking after them. Thank you.

yes artificial tears for dry eyes would work fine or you can often buy a commercial eye wash/irrigation fluid.
