Weird vision problems

Hi, I have been having a visual problem over the past 3 1/2 months that is really bothering me.  It is kind of hard to describe, it's kind of like when you press on your eyes for a few seconds and afterwards you see things weird.  Some adjectives could be static-like, or fuzziness.  One thing to note is that i still have 20/20 vision with my contacts in.  Also when i look at something bright(like the sky), i see  things that look like comets, or fireflys.  I've been having mild headaches occasionally.  I've seen an ophthalmologist 2 times for a dilated exam, and he said everything is fine.  After him i went to A neurologist, which he recommended.  He thought I had Suedo Tumor Cerebri, although he wasn't sure because i was a male.  After taking Diamox for 2 months, the visual symptoms have not improved.  I recently went to a neurologist who specializes in headaches and he said since i have no optic nerve swelling or peripheral vision loss, it is not seudo tumor.  He suggested that i stop taking all of the medication and just stop worrying about it since he didnt see anything to suggest a major problem, and wait until it just goes away itself.  One last thing to add is that I have been seeing an increased number of floaters.  Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

i have something simlar happening as i type now it comes and goes. i dont see fireflies like you said when looking at something bright. but it is almost like when you look at a light and then look away, but constant and everywhere. It makes it really hard to read as the text seems to be hard to focus on with the said vision thing interfering. it has been happening on and off for a few years now, I would say one to four times a month. Also i remember similar vision problems when i blacked out from dehydration quite a few years ago. as of now i am completely hydrated with no ill symptoms beside the vision inturrupting my work.

1. From your symptoms nothing suggests pseudotumor. I would agree with the last neurologist you saw.
2. the fireflys are an entopic phenomenon. Use google and search that term. The postingon wikipedia.com is good. Those are blood corpusles in your retina cappillaries.
3. Also read the many postings on this sight about floaters. by age 50 half of us have floaters by age 70 its three out of four.

Unless something changes I would try and stop worrying and see an ophthalmologist every year.
