Weiss Ring

I wold certainly take issue with the above comment about a Weiss ring disappearing after 2 weeks or even 6 weeks. I have had one since a PVD in my R. eye, back in February, which has shown no signs of going away - so this is almost 6 months later. I am about to go abck to my optician to check whether the floaters I also have will decrease over time (they have shown no signs of doing so up to now, and are extremely annoying).
Sorry if this is depressing news.

Thanks for your reply. Since my last posting I think I have had a PVD in my left eye (I was warned that this could happen) - so now I have floaters in both eyes - the ones in the left eye are definintely more visible than those in the right, which is encouraging as I think the right eye ones, including the Weiss ring, are fading at last! However I think I have a Weiss ring in my left eye as well! It's not a complete ring though, and is well over to the left of my vision. The main floater, however, is BIG (well, it looks big to me!) and is in my central vision - it makes it a bit blurry and I now have to wear my reading glasses for the PC as well as for reading normal print. It has improved slightly over this week, though, so I am hopeful that eventually things will get better. From reading other people's comments I am very reluctant to undergo surgery....
