What is the deal with the fuzziness or total black out of my eyes from sleeping?

The reason i ask is because i dread sleeping now. I inevitably wake up totally blind or fuzzy in whichever side i'm sleeping on. I realize it's the pressure i'm putting on my eyes sleeping on my stomach into the pillow, i'm not totally ignorant. But i can't control the way i toss and turn at night having sleep apnea, and a very severe form of panic/anxiety attacks lately does not make sleeping a joy as it should. I actually dread waking up in the morning because of it.

But lately it's becoming so much worse. My left eye especially. I try to use eye drops to encourage it to focus. It's more common for the extreme fuzziness than totally black. It drives me absolutely crazy because i'm a reader.

I have an eye appointment coming up but I would love to hear others opinions.

This needs to be attended to quickly. You are setting up that eye for glaucoma or a major blockage of the artery or vein in the eye which could cause permanent damage or blindness.  Absolutely essential you see an eye MD ophthalmologist and not a non-physician optometrist (OD) for this problem. Also see your personal physician for a complete physical including blood work, blood pressure check, a test called CRP and sed rate and discuss a carotid doppler. Also discuss your CPAP. Technicians should check fit and pressure settings, use a small of mask as will work. You are going to need to learn to sleep without pushing your face into pillow which raises pressure in eye. You can try elevating head of bed and not using pillow. This is a potentially serious problem treat it as such with an Eye MD ophthalmologist and your family doctor or lung doctor.
