When I stare into the blue sky it turns red?

I'm 20 male, no eye/health problems.. anyway, when I look at the blue sky (doesn't work on anything else even if it's bright?), When I close ONE eye and DE-FOCUS the open one, and just 'stare off' after about a few seconds it's like a slowly reddish/dark brown area appears - it looks like a after image, but as soon as I focus again it dissapears, and doesn't work with both eyes open? It's kind of like when it's dark and you keep staring, and things all go pitch-black until the slightest subtle eye movement brings everything back.

Have an eye examination by an ophthalmologist Eye MD, discuss your observations.  If the exam is normal stop looking for trouble and trying to find this area.

I had one 3 months ago. I noticed it by accident when working outside, although now that I purposely did it, I notice it doesn't happen if I clover the closed eye with my hand, because I notice when I defocus my eyelids slightly open which is where this area was coming from. It's in both eyes by the way - do you think this is something to worry about or just a observation I've noticed
Actually, I just realised - it looks exactly like a phosense, and only appears if I have one of my eyes covered? If I then close my eyes I can see it, like after you stare at a light theres that green/reddish area.
I know this question is being spammed, but I've concluded that it's me closed eye still seeing whatever is obstructing it, if I leave both eyes open and stare at the sky and put my finger infront of either eye, the 'area' occurs but it's actually the finger coming into focus at such a extreme close-ness.
Move on unless something changes or something new develops.  Then additional tests can be done by Eye MDs
Does it sound like a issue to you or is it just a whacky observation?
Does it sound like a problem or just a weird observation?
Can't make that determination from here. You must have an eye exam before putting in the weird/whacky  catagory
Dear James, please read my question, perhaps that is what you MEANT to say, but you could be meaning something different... if not follow the doctors instructions
