eye surgery

Hi there,

My left eye is -1.75 while my right eye is -7.25. It has been like this when I started to wear glasses 10 years ago though I think I should wear my glasses 16 years ago.

My eye doctor told me that at the back of my right eye, there are some holes. He told me he is not sure when they are and whether they are going to grow. He recommends me to have the laser surgery.

Recently I feel very uncomfortable about my right eye. Is it because the pressure is too high on that eye? I always feel that something presses on my right eye or it is going to be out. My appoint of the surgery is about two months later in Toronto Western Hospital. I am really scared about it though doctor told me I do not even have to rest for that surgery.

Anyone can give me any suggestions?

Doctor also told me I can do nothing to do this. I feel too depressed. It sounds like I cannot do anything except waiting for my eyes become worse and worse.

Thanks

Thank you. John.

Yes. The doctor gave me some tests and showed that the pressure is too high because my right eye is too deep.

I am not that depressed. Just do not want to be blind!

It is a simple matter to check the pressure in the eye to see if too high and that is done at most exams. Ask if IOP is okay (intraocular pressure). You might ask about sealing the holes then having lasik on the right eye.

It is not inevitable that either eye will get worse. You may need to see a psychiatrist to deal with your depression as nothing in your eye situation warrants that type of depression
