Sudden eye blister underneath eyelid

Hello!   After showering, my 9-year-old complained that it felt like he had an eyelash in his eye.  We can see that he has a blister in the outer corner underneath his top eyelid.  If you flip up the top eyelid you can see it; it's red and not smooth.  I am assumming that maybe he has just irritated it, but we're not sure.  I see from the archives that it could be a few things, but didn't know if we could find additional information.

Thank you for your help!!

P.S.  Do these things ever happen during office hours and/or during a non-holiday weekend???!  : )

Thank you, Dr. Hagan, for your quick response!  He did not have any pain or vision loss and hopefully tomorrow will be the same.  Off to the drugstore with your advice in hand.

Thank you so much!!!

You can get artificial tears and also eye irrigation solution at any drugstore without a RX. You can use them to flush the eye and use cool compresses. As long as there is no severe pain or loss of vision its likely it will be much better tomorrow
