floaters after lasik

i am from INDIA.i got floaters 3 months post lasik.now it is 7 months after lasik.floaters are still there and i am somewhat used of it.but sometimes it become extremely annoying for me.my lasik doc dilated my eyes and found no problems for retina and he said that there is no way otherthan ignoring floaters.my question is why medical community aggressievely pursue a treatment for floaters other than the risky ones like vitrectomy, laser etc.why eyecare giants like alcon do not take part interest in finding a medicine for floaters like some eye drops.

Very few people are bothered long term with floaters.  Your question is about collagen degeneration.  There are many companies trying unsuccessfully  to develop medications to prevent your skin from aging.  The market for floaters is much smaller.  Ponce De Leon was unsuccessful searching for the fountain of youth in 1513.  Medicine has not found it either.

The risk is more than LASIK and cataract surgery, but still very low in good hands.  A number of my patients have had vitrectomy for floaters.  The risk is RD.

thanks doc for response since there is no less risky treatment and no possible cure will emerge in the near future,i decided to ignore my floaters.i am now more tolerant to floaters than from the initial stage. But doc i find from internet search  that vitrectomy can be used to remove floaters and some say iit is very risky.is it true?do u perform vitrectomy on any patients for floaters?can i think about vitrectomy  for  myfloater problems ?is it a complex  risky operation?
