gas bubble in eye after surgery

what is the normal time for the gas bubble to be in the eye after retinal detachment surgery? I have the bubble almost 2 months now, and my Dr. said my retina has healed.
also, is occasional pain in the eye normal after surgery? i have slight pain, but i'm not supposed to "feel" the eye anymore...

tip for Retinal D. REST a lot after surgery, even if someone is telling you it's ok to do this and that...

thanks you all!!

I had the gas bubble injection in my left eye after retinal surgery in Feb this year.

The bubble slowly shrank and finally disappeared after about 6~7 weeks. The doc told me the particular gas he used was a bit more long lasting.

During a previous surgery on my right eye, the bubble only lasted about 3~4 weeks.

I also experienced occasional minor sharp pains in my eye after the surgery for about 2~3 months. My doc told me not to get too concerned if they are minor and occasional. But if they persist, then get it to see him.

Good luck,
  Mike

It depends on the type of gas used.  Two is a little long, but evey one is different.
