Cyst and vertical lines after vitrectomy using pars plana approach, cryo and gas

Hi, I am 49 and had the above surgery due to a retinal detachment on my right eye.
I developed a cyst on the white of my eyeball 15 days after surgery and have been given an appointment in 5 days. Since then my vision in the field above the line of the gas bubble has been deteriorating, which seems to be expected. However, I am worried that vertical lines (like blinds) are now appearing.  Are the cyst and the vision deterioration possible symptoms after the op? I would be grateful for replie as getting so worried about losing sight. Thank you.

These are two separate problems. The cyst (conjunctival cyst) can be drained easily in the office at the slit lamp with topical anesthesia and a snip or two. It will be impossible for you to know much about your vision until the gas (air or SF6 has resolved) You will need to ask your surgeon how your retina is doing as you will not be able to tell or judge.

Thank you very much for your response. It is so reassuring  that the cyst will not have an impact on the RD surgery. I have an appointment tomorrow and will definitely ask about the retina. Thank you again.
Also there are many postings which you can retrieve with the search feature and archives about the vision with gas in the eye.  Best of luck
