Do you know of any solutions to Micropsia?

Because of my 5 surgeries in the last year (which have caused chronic inflammation) when a new lens was put in it caused Micropsia. I am on strong steroid drops but is there anything else I can do?

Micropsia Causes Affected Individuals To Perceive Objects As Being Smaller Or More Distant Than They Actually Are.

The Majority Of Individuals With Micropsia Are Aware That Their Perceptions Do Not Mimic Reality. Many Can Imagine The Actual Sizes Of Objects And Distances Between Objects. It Is Common For Patients Suffering From Micropsia To Be Able To Indicate True Size And Distance Despite Their Inability To Perceive Objects As They Actually Are. One Specific Patient Was Able To Indicate The Dimensions Of Specific Objects With Her Hands. She Was Also Able To Estimate The Distances Between Two Objects And Between An Object And Herself.

I have micropsia in one eye caused by an epiretinal membrane.  Images in that eye appear smaller and color is less saturated.  My central vision doesn’t fuse. Prisms don’t help and the ERM is too mild for surgical correction.  The simple solution is a small piece of Scotch Gift Wrap tape on my glasses.  It fogs the central vision in that eye and forces me to use peripheral vision which does fuse.  My condition is called Dragged Fovea Diplopia. Thanks for your posting and sharing your experience. Glad you have found a workable solution.
I remember @CBCT posting this when I first joined this community. I had the symptoms of this, with images being on the order of 10-15 percent (estimated) smaller in the eye in which I had the vitrectomy/ERM peel for some time afterward. I was prepared to try this solution but the condition seemingly resolved itself over time or my brain adapted to it.
And we are glad you joined the community MR P
Thank you Dr. Hagan! It could be that, like CBCT, I have a diagnosed ERM in my other eye that also doesn't yet warrant surgery and the micropsia (if present) in that eye approximates that in my operative eye. My central vision does fuse however, and although color is indeed less saturated in my thus far non-operative eye there is a baby cataract there.
Thanks

Micropsia means things look smaller than they should.   The most common cause that cannot be corrected with glasses or contact lens is macular disease.    If you have an IOL in one eye but not the other eye you may have aneisometrophia which is unequal refractive error which can causes images to be of two different sizes.   What does your ophthalmologist say is the cause?

Last time you posted you had oil in eye and your surgeons did not want to put IOL in your eye until the oil was removed.  Your situation is so complicated that you will need to ask these questions of your surgeons as I can't give any useful information.
The oil was removed after my 4th surgery in September. The Cataract Surgeon and Retina Specialist are just hoping the macular edema will subside. If you have seen Beetlejuice with Michael Keaton where he has shrunken everyones head, this is what I am seeing when I open my surgical eye (that and everything is in miniature). Is there a specialist in the Utah area you would recommend?
University of Utah has a strong ophthalmology department.
