vision input at angle question

Doc explained a lot yesterday. Spent much time reviewing pics of my optic nerves.  I hope I got this right- but I think at one point he said the signal going to my optic nerve was perpendicular in one eye and at an angle  in the other eye. Can you explain what this means and what causes this???

It may be nothing because he was more concerned with the optic nerve itself and didn't elaborate on the angle input at all .

Sorta confused because when he covered the pics he stated that he wasn't as worried about the left optic nerve ( that other docs said was moderate to severe) as he was the Right.   The left had a rather large white area but a few red -I guess blood vessels in it-- The Right had a  smaller white area with no red going through it but a pink ring around it .  He said that it is something he wants to moniter regularly but I shouldn't be overly concerned right now.

My pressures have been much lower for the past year with a max of 23 ( one time 29 )  and  a test showed my corneas very thick which he says is a good thing for me .

If you can  elabaorate on the angle thing and maybe have some input on optic nerve pic I would appreciate.  He actually spent 45 min going over everything and I am afraid I forgot to ask a few questions at the end. Also is it common for two optic nerves to look so different?

HOW can a  computer print out of a Retina show healthy and then 5 weeks later tear and detach and a surgeon tell us the Retina was very thin ???  Nobody seems to know but it happened !!  I did finally get an accurate answer about the pain ( extreme ) after Buckle surgery when trying to focus . I kept saying the pain was at 2-3 o'clock and docs kept saying it would get better for 2 years--  after input from this site the docs admitted that the buckle hardware was at around 2 o'clock in the rt eye ( never knew that )  and removal was the only option and not  advised .  They said hopefully it would deminish in time but would not remove it unless it pokes through and is a risk of infection that could cause more serious damage- thanks to input from this site on the focus muscles and and such I have finally gotten the  ": rest of the story"   .

1. VER tests tests velocity of nerve conduction not angles.
2. How can a person be alive one minute then dead the next if his heart stops beating? Things change fast in the body and computer print outs do NOT determine thickness.

I am not a doctor. I am very experienced with helping eye patients, including myself.

We all become overwhelmed when taking in information about something as vital as our eyes. It is hard to ask all the questions.

Glad the doctors were able to help you get "the other side of the story."

The doctors told me my retinas were fine and they weren't. Lost most of vision in my left eye.

The doctor will answer you with more information on your current question. Was this an opthalomologist you were consulting with about your optic nerve?.
Write back if you need to.
