Did Your IVF Fail?

Hi All,
I would love to connect with those who have had failed IVF's. Im 37 and have had 3 attempts at IVF..one cycle was cancelled and two failed. I'm feeling very discouraged and starting to lose hope at having a baby of my own. I've had a great experience on these threads so I thought I'd start a new one! Hope to hear from you all soon!

Yes, we have officially moved forward with another cycle of IVF. I've been on meds for 4 days now and am feeling fine. I have a follie check tomorrow and hopefully everything is growing in there. My fingers are crossed for the both of us!

Hi Risa! I'm so glad the follie check went well and just a few more days until your IUI...excellent! That positive Beta test will be a great holiday present!
I start meds on cycle day 2 which will be around Monday. We are still waiting for insurance pre-authorization so we're not out of the woods yet but its all looking good!

Hi colls133,
My follie check went well. Looks like I had a strong leader and two trailers. Trigger set for Saturday and IUI on Monday. I have had many, but this one is different with fermara and injectables this cycle, plus it is much later in my cycle. Beta will Dec. 26. I am so ready for some good news for a change!

Glad your cycle is coming together. When do you start meds?

Hi Cutepoppy! The adoption process is kind of on hold. We are going ahead with one more IVF cycle first. We are still compiling all of the documentation required for the adoption but we are'nt sending it in just yet. We'll find out if the IVF was successful in the beginning of January and will submit the paperwork at that time. How's everything with you? Where are you at in your process?

We are doing a fresh cycle this month. We've actually never done a frozen yet. Maybe this time we'll have something to freeze for future use!
I have lots of preliminary testing today...sonoHSG, bldwk, etc. We are trying to quickly squeeze everything in...
Good luck on Thursday, I'll be looking for your next post!

That is great that you get to do your IVF this month! Everything for me depends on Thursday appt, so I hope my two follies are growing nicely.  I will update again after my appt.

What type of IVF are you doing? Fresh or frozen? Good luck!

Hope they can fit you in before your insurance doesn't cover it.  What a pain all of this is and oh the stress we have to deal with! I do hope it all works out for you, keeps us updated.

Musry - so sorry about your BFN...it's a bummer but keep your chin up...

Risa - I can't believe your coworker said that to you! And never even apologized...how rude!

As for me...today I went to the RE to see if he can squeeze in one more IVF cycle before my insurance no longer covers it. Unfortunatly he can't but referred me to another RE that may be able to. I have an appt with him on the 6th. We are cutting it close but who knows...maybe it will work out!

Hope you ladies are doing well!

I actually said to someone I dislike "actually I can't have children" I so dislike her & and I wanted to make her feel bad for telling me I should "go have babies"  instead of being a leader for my union. I just thought how dare her! I bust in tears ( was on meds at the time) & she has never apologized for her comments. I tell others, "keep us in your prayers"  You are right, others can not understand our pain. So glad I found Medhelp!

No, none of my IVF is covered. Everything for iuis is covered so I am stocking up extra meds. I might convert an iui to ivf if I ever have a cycle with more than 3 follies. I am doing fermara for five days then injectables this cycle.. I am having a follie check on Monday, then I am off to Anaheim for a conference. Actually across the street from Disneyland, but I will not be going this trip lol What is going on with you?

Hi Cutepoppy, Im glad you joined us. I'm in the exact same situation as you...I'm still trying for a pregnancy but am also starting the adoption process. We actually met with the agency/lawyer tonight for the first time. They were really nice and very informative but I have mixed feelings about it. I just always dreamed of having a biological child and never pictured anything else. I think I'm in a bit of denial about my inability to have children. I should probably stop rambling now...but again, Im glad you joined us!

Hi to all the ladies and cheeky its nice to see your update! It sounds like your in a pretty good place right now  :)

Hello again ladies, welcome to everyone new whom I haven't spoken to :-)

Your all very welcome about the info, it all counts I suppose at the end of the day doesn't it?!  It hasn't given us much luck as yet, but I know it's only time.

I feel a little better now thanks after the failed IUI.  The Fri/Sat there was pretty rubbish but we are moving on as best as we can!

With regards to they "dreaded" questions...to be honest I told my Hubby that one day I'm going to say "actually we can't have children and it is breaking our hearts" and see how said person reacts lol.  I don't think I will ever actually say this though, but I know after a failed treatment it's the last thing you want to hear from a work colleague etc.  I have found it a little easier to tell more people now, it saves them the embarrassment and me the pain and most of my family know now too!

I feel so much better coming on here and reading about all your stories/lives (although it makes me teary too lol), as much as I know just how bad infertility is in couples nowadays, it's nice to speak directly to those who completely understand me, not a little, or who think they do, but who 100% wholeheartedly know how our hearts feel after each dreaded failed treatment/monthly cycles.  Most people it is just ignorance, not in a bad way, but most folk assume it's SO easy to make a baby!  Well its not....if only that was all we needed was that special "cuddle" hehe from our partners life would be so much simpler, and pain free!  But the whole process is amazing and tough, and only a few pregnancies occur; even though it feels and looks like millions.  It's just sadly we aren't quite in they odds as yet.  BUT WE ALL WILL BE :-D

I've had my 3 very best friends all give birth recently, and one of them is pregnant again, but she did struggle for 2 years to conceive her first....so I do have hope but it has been very very hard.

Anyway....they say Christmas is when lots of babies are conceived what with the cold weather (something we certainly have here in the UK) and our minds on other things, so lets pray that at least one of us has some fab news over Christmas/New year.

Best of luck to everyone....I will keep my fingers, toes, eyes and ooooh just everything crossed hehe :o)

TAKE CARE

Hi Risa615, welcome! I'm sorry to hear about your most recent IUI. It never gets easier to have a failed cycle...will your insurance cover any of the IVF for you?

Yes, I have had a failed IVF along with double digits in IUIs.  I had been trying for four years, 3 of those years with treatment.  My FSH is elevated, usually between 18-22 so of course I always get the donor egg speech. I am not ready to go that way, I know it will always be there and can try donor eggs later in life, plus it does cost a lot of money!  I just did an injectable cycle and IUI that failed. If I get a good responds to meds, I will do another IVF even though it will cost me a lot.  I hope to go to the RE Monday or Tuesday and see if I can do meds this cycle.
