I was not blessed with my son on our first IVF but our 3rd. Don't let this worry you. A lot of women here have had success on the first try. As you can see from my profile I am an older mom. I had to have several test done to determine why it wasn't working. The 3rd time was the charm!!! It was a long and emotional journey but I made it thru. Now life is so sweet. I have been writing here since 2007 and I would not have gotten thru without the women here. They are such an unbelievable support team. Hang in there.

CONGRATS on your BFP!!!! I wish I would have done acupunture...I've been reading it's really good! I'm 4dp3dt, do you think it's to late to start? I'm so happy for you. Good luck!
I'm also new to the blog...just joined a couple of days ago and now I've sortof become addicted...since I'm in bed...extremely bored!!! and waiting for my results Oct.3. Anyway, from what I've learned not all doctors prescribe bed rest....my RE did...he told me only bathroom priveleges for 5 days....so here I am...blogging away...and staying positive!!! I'm also just learning all the acronyms...there's sooooo many.... Look up this web page...it's got all the acronyms for Infertility/Fertility....it helped me alot understand about what other women talk about and are going through.
Good luck!!!! Keep me posted on your results.

Best of luck with your cycle. I just finished my first IVF and I did acunpuncture twice a week thru the process plus yoga. I was able to stay pretty calm and it definately helped with the emotional side of things. I got my BFP yesterday so I think it worked! I would highly recommend both!
IVF was so stressful for me especially between retrieval and transfer and then before my beta. I don't think there is any way to reduce stress. But with support of your dh and women here you can do it!
Good luck to you and I hope ivf works for you.
SSBD!!!
Thank you for your advice. I am just so afraid of getting my hopes up just to be let down but I guess the thing I have to remember is that it wouldn't happen at all if I wasn't trying.
I feel horrible because I am the 2nd wife and my hubby's first wife couldn't carry. There is nothing wrong with him. The doctors are so impressed with his count, etc. The first wife would conceive and then loose (even up to 5 months.). In the end it was a blessing that she didn't give him a child but I so hate to put him through this.
He is a rock, though. Just cares about my well being. See? Doesn't he sound like he'd make a good father?
I love October. It is my favorite month and I will find out in October if it took or not. Congrats on your little boy. Were you blessed with him on your first IVF?
Hi. I've never written in blogs before so I feel really dumb when it comes to some of the acronyms. You had your ET a few days ago... what is ET? Is that the transfer? Non one told me that I am going to have to be on bed rest.
I'm planning on taking a few days off of work (which is a stressful place for me) but my doctor told me that I can do my normal activities. Just no swimming or exercising, etc.
The other think I have going on is that I have Fribromyalgia so I pretty much live in stress over the pain and the other symptoms.
Thanks for the link to the success stories. I agree. I think right now I need to just be positive. I think those of us going through this are quite aware of the negatives.
Good luck to you. Let me know how it goes.
I have a beautilful little boy from IVF who is about to turn 1 this October. Its tough going thru the cycle from beginning to end. Try to relax as much as possible and say alot of prayers. Try to stay positive. It will happen. As roxcb said it will all be worth what ever you have gone thru and when you hold that baby in your arms there are no words to discribe the feeling. Best of Luck.

My doctor says to think happy thoughts! It's really hard. I'm also going through my first IVF...and I just had my ET a few days ago and I'm in bed rest. I just try to think positive, but it's quite hard because everything that happens in your body will scare you. I've done a lot of reading on the web of success stories...and that has helped me some.
This is a good web page: http://www.fertilitystories.com/success.
It's amazing what we endure to have a baby...but it's all worth it.
