I did sonohysterogram before starting my first IVF.  It costs about $345.  It just like an U/S, RE will look deep inside with different dimension.  I just feel uncomfortable and mild cramps.  This procedure just want to make sure your uteris surface is smooth and embyos got more chance to implante.  Good luck.

Sorry to hear about BFN.  I hope the new RE works out better.  You are lucky you have more than one in your area.  I live in central Illinois and there is only one office around.  I'm lucky both of the doctors/staff seem great there.  I've only been going to RE about 6mo, but they did two months of test before we even started treatment.  During my last cycle (Dec.) I did get pg, but had an ectopic.  I am thankful we are able to try again this cycle--one week of waiting left.

I have had the HSG done twice if that's the same as sonohysterogram (Xrays of uterus/tubes).  It's not so bad.  My Re strongley reccomends taking three ib profen before the procedure.  I had severe cramps, but they subside quickly after the dye had "leaked out".  I had the HSG done in the morning both times and by the afternoon the cramps were more like mild AF cramps.  I was able to go back to work a couple hours after the procedure.  I do have a very weak stomach and could not look at the monitor while they were taking the pictures.  Good luck to you and I hope everything comes back clear.

Hi girls. Just wanted to give you guys a quick update. I got a BFN this morning at 12 dpo, and since I don't have any major symptoms, I think I'll be calling the new RE my obgyn recommended this morning. I went back to my previous RE (who I saw for 4 unmedicated IUIs last year) about two weeks ago, and she wanted to start me on injectables and IUIs/IVF...without doing any more tests (I've had two miscarriages). So I asked my obgyn what he thought, and he recommended I go to another RE for a second opinion.

Since I don't have any fertility related coverage, I will have to pay a minimum of $3,500 per IUI/injectable cycle or a minimum of $10,000 for IVF, so I'm a little hesitant starting these cycles without having more tests done. I mean, IF i do get pregnant, what if I end up having another miscarriage?

So, we'll see what the new RE says. I would feel a lot better moving forward if I get a second opinion (whether he agrees with my previous RE or not).

Best of luck to all still in the 2WW, and for those of you who have just started a new cycle, let's hope this is the one!!! SSBD!!!

I think so :)  I just called my doctor - again - and told them how concerned I was and should I go in, etc. She said that it probably is because of the Clomid and just to proceed as I had planned - by continuing to take my next pill. I take it this is kind of common on Clomid? I don't 'feel' pg - no sypmtoms... I may take yet another test tonight just in case, but I would think if it was anything at all, it probably was a chem pg and wouldn't necessarily show up. So I may just never know - jsut have to chalk it up to a weird period, I guess... just hate it when something happens that I'm not used to - I get so worried and upset! Doing a little better now though... I guess I'll just concentrate on my next cycle.

G_S - I got confused... when you used the whole word :) HSG - that I understand, lol! I haven't had it done yet, but am planning to. Have to admit I'm scared though. My insurance will cover it, but I haven't met my deductible yet and so have to pay about $200 up front. Which isn't so bad but w/everything else we're dealing w/right now, I'm having a hard time coming up with it. I'm hoping I can get it done this next month. I have heard that a lot of ladies on here have gotten pg right after the procedure - like maybe it cleaned something out.. not sure but it sounds good, right? :) Anyway, I'm hoping to get it done as soon as I can - bc if I have a blockage I'm going to be so upset that I waited so long. Good luck to you - and let me know how it goes!

I haven't had the HSG done, but I've heard that the procedure is not bad and very helpful for finding out what's going on inside u.  I would definitely go for it.  If nothing else, if it comes back clean then you have a good feeling going forward.

Hang in there.  Thinking of you.

Jen023 - Doing ok?
