5cm Fibroid , Myomectomy for removal and successfully pregnant?

Dearies : I have been diagonised with a 5cm fibroid that is causing moderate distortion of the uterus. I have had 2 early miscarriages (1 with IUI and 1 with IVF). My doctor is recommending that i do an abdominal myomectomy for removing the fibroid and then attempt a FET. I am perfectly normal and healthy otherwise. We also have a primary MF issue. Has anyone else been successful in getting pregnant after a myo? I am confused if surgery is the right thing to do for a 5 cm fibroid...any pieces of advise?

Arti - My doctor feels that my fibroid is causing moderate uterus distortion and may be responsible for my previous 2 early miscarriages and hence it should be removed before proceeding with another round of IVF cycle. Do you think this can be possible?

I have no pain or pressure, but now after my failed early miscarriage with IVF, i have been spotting between cycles for past 2 months. Please any advice is helpful.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there,
Myomectomy is usually indicated in patients who have pain or pressure not relieved by treatment with medicine. If a fibroid is causing repeated miscarriages myomectomy is done to improve the chances of pregnancy. It is necessary to have a frank discussion with your gynecologist about the surgery and how will it be beneficial to you. Do discuss your concerns. I hope it helps.
Best luck and kind regards!
