5th IUI and still TTC

I'm 22 years old and my husband and I are ttc our first child. My husband had a vasectomy 10 years ago..(he's 10 years older than me) so one of our options was to do IUI with a donor. I've had all kinds of tests to make sure I can concieve. I even had an HSG done. Everything was good. However, we have had 5 IUI's and none of them worked. I am getting worried that something is wrong because I've heard after 6 IUI's that it's a slim chance it will work. I"ve been on Clomid and estradiol. Why doesn't it seem to be working? Should I try more IUIs?

I asked my RE about only being able to do so many clomid treatments and she said that since I was on the estradiol that thickens the lining I would be ok? I think I'm going to ask them to start the injectibles..I asked them a month ago and my RE told me I was jumping the gun and that I shouldn't have a reason to start them?

I have unexplained infertility.  I did Clomid for four months...I ovulated on my own, but the Clomid was to help raise progesterone and increase the quality of the egg.  My RE will not do more than four months of Clomid becaue it thins the lining.  If you do injectables your follicles will be checked often.

Thanks for something positive. I think I'm going to try another month with the clomid and if that doesn't work go to the injectibles. We haven't done any u/s or anything to check my follicles because my RE doesn't think it's necessary because I shouldn't have a problem conceiving..

I had a total of 7 IUIs before we got one to stick.  The first IUI worked but the pregnancy wasn't viable (or something), the next 5 did not.  We used Follistim and then on the 7th we were fortunate.  We used donor sperm also, but I had some serious issues to go along with it.

Keep trying, sometimes it just takes a while.  Maybe give it a rest for a few months and then try again?
