A little concerned.. should i be??

I went to the doctor yesterday 4/30 for my first ob appt. They did an u/s and saw only a gestational sac at 5ws. I have miscarried before... should i be able to see a yolk sac yet?? should i be prepared for another mc?

My IVF 5 yrs ago, we only saw a tiny sac at 6w2d and were told to go home and wait for miscarriage (99%).  Yet at 7w we saw a tiny flicker and here she is playing on her ipod next to me!  Best wishes to you and hoping your little embie keeps growing!

yes... in 2 wks... which will put me at 7wks. I just didnt know if it was normal or not. Thanks for quickly responding!! I can breathe easier!

5 weeks is pretty early to see a yolk sac, so don't be prepared for a M/C, be cautiously optimistic, and hope for the best! It's very normal not to see a yolk sac that early, especially if you may have ovulated late. Are you scheduled for another U/S?
