Another Concerned Girl with Polyp

I was just told by my doctor that I have a polyp that is approx. 2cm.  I will soon have a Hysteroscopy.  I am a bit nervous and need some friendly advice to help me and also my mother who I believe is more concerned than I.  I am not scared about the actual procedure because I have read that it is quite simple and almost "risk free" ... I am worried because my doctor says that because the polyp is so big there is a lot of blood vessels feeding it...My OBG will do the surgery at the hospital with general anestesia but says that if it is too risky she will not go through with it.  I guess I just need to find more info on procedures that involve a polyp of this size.  I am 31 and my husband and I are thinking of starting a family.  My doctor says a polyp this size could make it difficult.  Have any of you heard of procedures that involve a polyp of this size.??

I had a polyp removed before my IVF cycle.  It was approx. 1/2" (kinda big).  Had it done under general anesthesia, out patient.  It wasn't too bad, worse than a D&C and not as bad as a lap.  B/c mine was so large I spotted pretty heavily for about 4 or 5 days.  And there was some pain, but I just took a pain pill 1x a day for 2 days.
All in all, not bad.
Good luck!

Hi , I had Laproscopy done because my tubes were blocked and they noticed something in my uterus that ended up being a polyp. They removed it, Im not sure how big it was but i was told that it could cause problems with implantation..also they were only able to unblock one tube. I am now starting IVF (my chances are better doing IVF than naturally). I'd do more research if I was you and think positive!! Good Luck to you!!
