Any PCOS women have success on Metformin and Clomid?

I've been diagnosed with PCOS recently and will start Metformin and Clomid.  I've heard the chances of having a healthy pregnancy with these meds are 40% for PCOS women which isn't too bad but wish it was more like 80%  : )  Just wanted to hear any success stories to help cheer me up. Thanks

hey ladies! I have a few questions for anyone thats taken Clomid to try to conceive! I 28, healthy and arried for alost 4 years. My husband and I have been TTC for 17 months now with no luck :( I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and my dr has prescribed Clomid 100mg (two 50mg tablets daily) on days 3-7 which I am scheduled to begin around the 10th of March... I AM NERVOUS! does anyone know what the difference is with taking it right at start of cycle vs later (day 3-7)? I heard the chances of multiples are higher when taken later in AF as prescribed by Dr.? also anyone suffer from the lovely side effects (painful AF, headache, mood swings, hot flashes etc)? wanna know what Im in for! lol I hope this works! Im soooo emotionally hurt everytime AF time comes around each month! :( best wishes for everyone TTC and all the baby dust in the world to you all!

Well, to be honest I have never officially been diagnosed with PCOS. However, I do and yes, my doctor agrees that I probably do. I have a 5 year old son and we got him totally my accident. I had been losing weight and my doctor at the time said that is probably when it happened. So last year my husband and I decided to start having another baby. In December my doctor found a very large cyst on my right ovary and said I needed surgery. In surgery she was not able to get the cyst off and my ovary ruptured she had to take the ovary and my fallopian tube. So now I am down to one ovary and tube. I am going back to her in a few weeks to start metformin and probably clomid. Have any of you been successful on these with only one ovary and fallopian tube?

I AM 23 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE ENDOMETRIOSIS AND DOCTORS BELIEVE I HAVE PCOS AS WELL.  I HAVE BEEN ON BC SINCE I WAS 11Y/O. I HAVE HAD 4 LAPAROSCOPIES, 2 D&C'S, AND 4 HYSTEROSCOPIES.  IT HAS BEEN 3 YEARS SINCE MY LAST SURGERY AND I DESPERATELY NEED IT NOW.  I AM CONSTANTLY IN PAIN, EVEN WHEN IM NOT ON MY PERIOD. LAST WEEK I BEGAN GLUCOPHAGE 500MG ONCE A DAY AND NEXT WEEK I WILL START TAKING THEM TWICE A DAY. I CAN ALREADY TELL A DIFFERENCE IN MY APPETITE SO I AM HOPING I START LOSING WEIGHT SOON. BECAUSE I AM OBESE AND THATS ANOTHER STRIKE AGAINST ME. I DESPERATELY WANT A BABY, I FEEL LIKE I WAS BORN TO BE A MOTHER. SO HOPEFULLY I CAN HAVE SURGERY SOON TO BURN OFF THE ENDO AND THEN TTC. WISH ME LUCK!

While taking Clomid, are we suppose to figure ovulation on a 28 day cycle or on our odd cycles. (mine is 48 day)?  Can honestly say, don't ever see any signs of ovulation and haven't seen positive on an ovulation test yet.
Thanks

I have had pcos for about 15 years. I have been taking metformin 500mg twice a day and clomid 50mg once a day for five days. I just realized that I have been doing it wrong. I thought the clomid brought on my period. I am now going to start taking it the right way. Thanks for all the stories. It feels good to know that I'm not alone

Hi!

I do have PCOS too. But im not loosing hope :)

I have friend she have PCOS too but what good for her is,she get pregnant after taking metformin, clomid and a shot of pregnyl. She's started with metformin 2/day, on 3rd day of period clomid 2/day in 5 days. Then aftr 12 days she went back for another ultrasound, then her doc found out she have a mature eggs which means her eggs is ready for ovulation in 2 to 3 days. Then her ob advices her to come for pregnyl shot to release her eggs from her ovary. Then after 2weeks or 4weeks of her last period she don't have her period till 5th weeks. She do HPT and she is pregnant :D

So ladies don't lost hope.

Now, im taking metformin for for 1 month because my last period was nov 18, 2010 and my next period is jan 19 til now. I went to my ob and she gave me clomid to take it 2/day and she ask me to come back on 13days of my cycle.

So ladies,I will let you know what will happen next ;) Just keep on praying :)
