Any PCOS women have success on Metformin and Clomid?

I've been diagnosed with PCOS recently and will start Metformin and Clomid.  I've heard the chances of having a healthy pregnancy with these meds are 40% for PCOS women which isn't too bad but wish it was more like 80%  : )  Just wanted to hear any success stories to help cheer me up. Thanks

Hi all, I'm so glad I found this site! I'm 30 yo  and my husband and I have been trying to conceive on and off over the past 7 years. I've had two laparoscopies where I was diagnosed with mild endo and both times I've had cysts or tumors removed but my doc has assured me that there's nothing wrong with me that should prevent me from getting pregnant. I've never been diagnosed with PCOS but I'm think I have it. My cycles have never been like clockwork but they've gotten more erratic in the last few years. I've been on Clomid and Letrozole (but never for more than two cycles in a row) plus I had IUI my second cycle of Clomid. I've seen my regular OBGYN, another that a friend recommended plus another that specializes in fertility and still NOTHING! Unlike some of my friends and many of you on this message board who are struggling, I've never been pregnant so I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible for me. A friend of mine had trouble conceiving last year and her doc put her on Metformin and she was pregnant the very next month. After reading a lot of these posts I became encouraged and asked my doc to put me on Metformin, which he did. I started taking it yesterday and my af should be leaving in the next day or so. I'm not giving up and I hope you all don't either! I'll keep you posted....

Hi everyone. I've been reading so many posts and it makes me feel a little better knowing that I'm not alone in this... especially when it seems like everyone around you is either pregnant or have children. I am 27 years old and my husband and I have been TTC for exactly one year. Last month I went to my GYN and finally got diagnosed with slight PCOS. I think it took so long for a diagnosis because I don't fit the typical mold of someone who would have PCOS (according to my doctor). I went to an RE and she confirmed the slight hormonal imbalance. My husband is normal and healthy. I just took my first round of Clomid. My period is due tomorrow. I do feel AF symptoms, so I'm really trying not to get my hopes up. But after a year of TTC (and I know many people have been trying a lot longer), it's hard to not get emotional, disappointed and frustrated. Thanks for all of your posts - in such a difficult situation, it's nice to know there are others out there experiencing the same thing. Baby dust to everyone!

I have been diagnosed with PCOS 4 months ago. I am 27 years old and I am having irregular period since I was 14 years old. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby from past 12 months and finally I decided to see the doctor. I love my doctor and instead of putting me on medication right away she asked me to loose some weight and see if she can set my hormones. I am not obese, but I still lost around 10lbs in last 4 months..but no periods yet :(

I am going to see her today and she is going to put me on clomid. I am very very sad and I really want to have a baby. I hope clomid works for me. I shall keep you guys posted.

Meanwhile, please pray for me and I shall keep you all in my prayers and thoughts! baby dust to all

Hello everyone! I'm 30 years old and my husband and I have been TTC for 5 years now. I was first diagnose with PCOS when I was around 22 or 23, but I believe I've always had it as young girl. As I get older I've notice my symptoms have been getting worst. Since we've been TTC for so long, I decided to get a little help with clomid. I've tried 3 rounds of clomid 50mg 5-9 days with no luck. My doctor has now increase my dosage to 100mg 5-9 days and I just took my last two pills today!: ) My body has reacted to the medication very well. I've only had mild hot flashes during the night. I would suggest to take your clomid pills at night, so you don't feel the side affects. It's been working for me. My husband and I have a 10 year son, which I had when was 20 with no medication. I know it's possible to have a baby if you have PCOS, so don't give up ladies!! I'm not! : )

I was diagnosed at 15 for PCOS however and I have HYPOthyroidism. I am also 25 and ttc for almost 3 years now. I went off BC almost 3 years ago and am proud to say that my periods are normal and come every month and my doc is feeling my ability to get pregnant is high, but I may need some help. So he put me on Metformin, but only 500mg once a day. I am worried it isn't working because I have no symptoms and am not losing weight. I am hoping it works for me because I am ready to have a baby. Anyone else have this problem??

I'm 25 years old and recently started ttc. After being on birth control for at least 10 years I've had no signs of PCOS. My cycle was actually shorter after stopping my BC, I have it about every 24 days and terrible cramping almost constantly. I decided to go to my gyno to make sure I was healthy and ready to have a baby. After blood tests she told me I have PCOS and HYPERthyroidism. After reading different articles on the internet it is very confusing how I can have both. I am not overweight, no facial hair, and no problems with my insulin. I've started my first round of clomid along with my meds im taking for my over active thyroid. I was wondering if anyone else has had these two completely combinations which is not showing any symptoms but infertility.
