Any PCOS women have success on Metformin and Clomid?

I've been diagnosed with PCOS recently and will start Metformin and Clomid.  I've heard the chances of having a healthy pregnancy with these meds are 40% for PCOS women which isn't too bad but wish it was more like 80%  : )  Just wanted to hear any success stories to help cheer me up. Thanks

I just found out I have pcos and my doctor put me on metformin  at the beginning of last month , I also took my last dose of prevera 2 days ago .,as soon as my period  Comes, I start the clomid on day 5 at 150mg. if I have mature follicles  then I have to give myself an injection to have my follicule be released . I just want to hear success stories about the same thing . I have been on clomid once before without metformin and of course it did not work  , I am 27 years old  and would be grateful for just 1 baby .   I am overweight  and has been trying to lose weight but it is very unsuccessful , even with metformin . I would just like to hear some success stories ..and hopefully I will think positive ..thanks
Amber.

I would call your doctor. I've read that Clomid can make your cycles longer - I was 5 days late on my 1st round. But there's always a chance you could be pregnant. It would be best to call your doctor, they will probably want you to come in for a blood test. Good luck :)

Hello I am 26 years old and I have been diagnosed with PCOS. I have been having problems with my cycle since I started it, it has never been regular thank God for my recent OBGYN doctor who was concerned enough to do further testing. I had been taking the metformin 1500mg a day and it was working for about six months, then it stopped working. My doc has put me on Provera for a whole month ( has anyone else been on that medication for that long) I am completely afraid that when I have my cycle it's going to be rough. He wants me to have a hystersolpingogram done (has anyone had one? what does it feel like?) and then he will start me on the clomid. I pray that it works my husband and I want to welcome a bundle of joy to our family.

Thanks for listening guys I didn't know there was a support group via the internet for me :)

To follow up on my post from a few days ago... AF was due yesterday, never came, and negative hpt. I'm going to wait until Monday and if still nothing, I'm going to call my RE. She said that if Clomid didn't work the first round, then she would also put me on Metformin. I've heard good things about Metformin. Best wishes to everyone!
