Anyone starting IVF Jan/Feb 2009?

I am on a break after we canceled my 2nd IVF due to low follie count, I am taking BCP and DHEA for 2 months and then trying again. Just wondering if anyone else is on a break in between or just starting first one in Jan/Feb 2009. We can pass the time, while we wait.

I'm 37.  My DH is 40.  When you say your meds didn't go in are you using a pen?  I have never taken Follistem so I'm not sure if it's like the Gonal-f pen.  That happened to me with the pen.  This time I write down how much I start with and how much I take and subtract it so I'll know when I am getting close to the pen being empty.  I know with my gonal-f pen it clicks when I inject so when I do 75 units it clicks twice.  I"m sure taking extra isn't going to hurt you.

I may be responding well now, but that doesn't mean I'll keep responding.  We just have to stay positive and hope and pray for the best.  Worry doesn't help...it doesn't change the outcome.  We can't control it, unfortunately.  Hang in there.  You go back to the doctor on Friday, too, right?

Sounds like you are repsonding quite well. Good for you. Can I ask how old you are? I'm curious to see the difference in age compared to the number of follices you are making. I'm 41.
I'm really trying to stay positive, I'm sure not sure how. I'm trying to prepare myself for the chance this may be cancelled.
And, it seems I did not get all my medicine from the injection on Monday. Not quite sure what happened.  I was supposed to take 300 cc's, and I dont think I got anything.  My DH gives me the injections, and he thought not so much went in. I'm trying to catch up on my dosage. Who knows...one more thing for me to worry about. Hopefully the extra dosage today wont cause too much havoc on my  body.

I went for my u/s today and blood work.  My E2 level is 90.4 and I am responding well to the medication.  I have 10 follies on my left and 8 on the right.  I had a couple that were size 8 already and she said my lining was 8, too, which is good.  So they are keeping my meds the same and I go back on Friday.  If everything keeps going well I will do ER next week.

Janice- I know what you mean about the process being frustrating.  I have had a lot of disappointment too.  It's so hard to be positive and excited when you know in the back of your mind at any minute things can crash/change.  They may change/up my meds Friday, not sure.  That makes me very nervous after what happened last time.  That's when I crashed before.....

Sticktome- Welcome!!!! I'm 37.  What is your infertility story?  This is my second try at IVF as my first cycle was cancelled 5 days before ER.  Things are going ok for me now.  Let us know about your situation.

JenJen,
I think the follies were an ok size for now. I'm not quite sure on the measurement.
I did have more now than I did with my last go at this.  My doctor had me on Menopur and Follistem last time, and that did not work for me. I'm just taking Follistem right now. He increased my meds a bit, and I'm taking an injection in the morning and evening.
I go back Friday..we'll see what happens.  It is just sooo frustrating.  I just dont know what to do. My DH is great..trying to  keep me positive. Some days are just harder than others.

Empty - Thanks for the support!!!  I go tomorrow to see how I am responding to my FSH.  I'll post tomorrow with the results of my appointment.  What is going on with you?

JaniceP -  What size were your follies?  I had problems last cycle with my estrogen level.  I was doing well until my doc reduced my meds then I bottomed out.  This time he changed my protocol to include menopur at the onset which helps with quality of follies.  I hope your change in protocol helps!!  I will be praying for your success.
