A story of hope to share

I have written my story, in hopes that more people will talk openly about infertility, and for those that have never been through it, they will have a better idea of what it's like.  I wasn't going to post it, because ironically, the very next morning after writing about how grateful we were to be pregnant with our second child, I woke up and found out that my baby was dead at 16 weeks.  But I decided there is still plenty of hope to be found in our story.  There is still a good message about advocating for yourself, and for those just starting their journey, there are lots of details that I wish I'd known when we started.  We still have our first daughter, and this was what we endured to bring her into this world.  We are all volunteer writers on this site, so the only benefit is spreading our story.

I wish you the best of luck on your pregnancy!

I wasn't on anything anymore at 16 weeks.  Progesterone usually stops after the first trimester.  We did not get the genetic testing done on the remains of the fetus because my insurance wouldn't pay for it, but we kind of didn't want to know anyway.  Either there was something wrong with the baby, or it was my body.  Whichever the case, we decided we wouldn't do anything different the next time if I got pregnant, so if it was my body I'd rather not know so I don't blame myself forever.

I just read your story, thank you so much for sharing. I have had infertility problems as well, but nothing compared to what you went through. I had surgery to remove scar tissue (I too suffer from endometriosis), I was put on clomid, they tried using parlodel to lower my prolactin level (which really had nothing to do with my infertility, I ovulated monthly on my own), and I finally made the leap and did ivf. I was fortunate that it worked the first time, and the only horrible side effect was that my ovaries swelled up so bad, I too produced 18 eggs. I was so swollen and in pain, I looked like I was already four months pregnant because of the swelling! Anyway, I'm still on injections and will be until 12 weeks of pregnancy, though my poor buttcan't take much more (been taking this shot daily for two months now)

Again thank you so much for sharing your story, I hope one day people can talk freely about infertility without being ashamed, and people will listen without being uncomfortable about it. I'm really sorry you lost your baby at 16 weeks. Do they know why? Was it because of your missed dose?
