Clomid for the first time

Hello all! Today I went to the gyno for my yearly exam and talked to him about fertilitiy isssues. I took one depo shot a year ago and never got another. I've been ttc for about 9 months now (with no luck due to depo). After my next menstrual cycle doc wants me to try clomid. I'll take my pills from day 3 to 7, go for an ultrasound on day 12 and maybe get an injection to release my egg and follicle, then get my blood work to see whats gonna happen. I just wanted to talk to someone whos had good luck with clomid and learn a little from a person not a medical professional :] Thanks ladies!

Thanks ladies. :] I've been googling like crazy trying to see what my odds are, but it varies from person to person. I'm just anxious for June so I can begin all the meds and see what'll happen. Sending baby dust to you all :]

I wish I had a success story to share, hopefully I will soon! Clomid works well for me stimulating more follicles, but I haven't had a successful IUI yet. Though I am almost 39 which has a lot to do with it! Good Luck!

I also do not have a success story yet but am on my second round of 50mg Clomid. I o on my own but the OB prescribed Clomid because she says it releases the healthiest egg/eggs and can make you ovulate sooner. Last month after my first month of Clomid I was very dry "down there" so this month she also prescibed me Estrogen which helps with the dryness. I hope this is my winning combination! I am on my 3rd cycle of clomid right now, but it's the first one where they told us to go ahead and BD (other 2 cycles had to abstain). So can't share a success story yet, but hoping for one this cycle. I did take it days 3-7 and then used ovidrel shot to induce ov bc I was not getting LH surge on my own (even though I usually ov on my own). I started with 50 mg the first cycle and that thinned my lining way too much so they reduced it to 25 mg for past 2 cycles. Lining is still on the thin side with 25 mg so may be switching to another drug if this doesn't work. Had a cyst after the 1st cycle so had to wait out a cycle in between until it went away, no cyst after the 2nd cycle. Good luck to you!
