Constipation

I was taking prenate elite during pregnancy & I was fine....I still take them as I am breastfeeding.....but I am very constipated.  Do you think that is why??  Should I stop taking them & just take a regular multivitamin??  Please respond asap.

Thank you

I also take prenate-elite and have had LOTS of problems with constipation.  I started taking colace 2 everyday and that didn't work so my DR put me on Miralax.  That works well.  Try that.

it's totally normal & common for women to be constipated after having a baby. if ur nursing i would recommend u keep taking the prenatal vitamins cuz nursing will deplete ur iron. just give ur body time to adjust n u should become normal again =D

I also take the prenate elite, and I'm a little constipated but not too bad, anything with more iron is gonna do it to ya! I would try a gentle stool softner first, if that dosen't work I would nix the elites! Good luc.

you could start with a regular women's on a day now.  or you can go and get the prenatals without iron to see if that helps.

have you increased your fiber intake and been taking a colace every couple of days?  that seems to help a lot of women.
