Cycle Problems/Hypothyroid

I am trying to get in touch with people that have hypothyroidism and have had trouble conceiving. I have been TTC for about a year now. However my period was not regular, plus I was not ovulating. After rounds of meds and nothing working I was feeling defeated. However I just recently found out my thyroid is not working correctly and that I am actually hypothyroid. Therefore I am now on meds. Has anyone had a similiar problem? Were you able to get pregnant after starting meds? Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi Cat -

I have hypothryoidism also.  We tried to conceive for almost seven years.  I finally got my thyroid meds regulated recently and we did IVF and I'm now almost 11 weeks pregnant!  Thyroid can definitely play a big role in conceiving and having a successful pregnancy.  Best of luck to you!

Dear Friend

I am also recently diagnoised with hypothyroidism; that was in feb 2011; i started meds in march; and in april test;TSH came back to normal; i was regular on meds; did treadmill of 40 mins everyday and was careful with diet; i am sure the numbers will align soon. TSH is something we could fix with medicine;

so dont loose hope; keep taking medicines; and track ovulation; and make love according to the ovulation; just be stress free; i know its difficult; please try that.

i am sure it will work soon for you. take care.
