I am a little confused. You said you had an u/s on cd12 and they said your FSH was elevated? An u/s doesn't measure FSH. Did you have bloodwork done and they gave you the result on cd12? The only time you can get an accurate measure on FSH is around cd3. If the test was done on cd12, it is not considered elevated. FSH increases as you approach ovulation.
I assume you have PCOS, that is why you are on Metformin? Often, drs will rx bcps to reduce the # of cysts. Sorry for all the questions. It's just a little confusing :)

I've heard of several women taking bcp's but I don't know all of the reasons why. I definitely know women with fibroids or women who want to balance their hormones. I know fibroids are directly affected by Estrogen so the pill would help level that off because of the Progesterone in them. So maybe that is the same balancing affect for the FSH. I wish I knew more about this but maybe someone else will respond.
