Estrace for thin lining

Hi there...my husband and I are ttc #1.  I have had three miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy.  We just recently began seeing a fertility specialist and she started me on clomid 100 mg.  I have taken clomid in the past but not while being monitored so closely.  I went for my day 12 ultrasound yesterday which showed two follicles but a thin lining.  Because of this my doctor prescribed estrace to be inserted vaginally for the next few days, and to have another ultrasound done on 03/29/12.  I am worried that this cycle is now a waste since my lining is thin.  Has anyone had success with estrace?  Our original plan was to receive an HCG trigger shot if everything looked good, but now I'm wondering if that will even be an option this cycle.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you all for your responses!!  I'm so happy to hear that estrace has worked for all of you.  Hopefully I will get good news tomorrow from my ultrasound!

mhv - I was told that my lining was only 4.1 on day 12.  My RE is thinking this could be the reason I am having miscarriages or could just be from the Clomid.  She told me if my lining doesn't improve after using the Estrace that I will potentially be switching to Femera or to injectables.  I have never used either of those treatments so I am pretty nervous about that.

Thank you all for your prayers and kind words!!!  I will keep you updated.

I took Estrace, too, as part of my IVF cycle and it worked for me with the first cycle. Good luck!

Estrace does help,:) and in a short amount of time too.  You can also start taking Vitamin E, 500mg a day.  That should, help too.

There is also a supplement called Raspberry LEAF tea.  In tea bags or in capsule form, that helps "tone" the uterus. You can usually find it in the organic section of your super market.  You would only take this up to ovulation date.

Clomid is known to make linings thinner.

Also, please be assured, many women have gotten pregnant with a thin, lining. Did your doc tell you what your lining was measuring at?

Your lining will thicken up when you are on estrace.  Follow your doctor's orders, if she thinks the cycle is a loss she will say so, but starting estrace at day 12 is early enough to improve things in the same cycle.

So sorry for all the trouble you've had trying to conceive.  There are many of us here that know what you are going through and understand.

I would say yes that I've had success with estrace.  I was given estrace in my last IVF cycle (which was a FET), and it definitely worked to thicken the lining.  That was our 3rd IVF cycle and it was the one that worked (I'm a little over 6 months pregnant now).  I can't say that the estrace was the one factor that made the cycle a success, but I definitely think it helped.

I'll be saying an extra prayer that this cycle is a success for you!
