I had my first embryo transfer 12 days ago and I am due for my pregnancy test day after tomorrow. But since this morning I am having vaginal bleeding. I think I am on my periods. I have all kinds of period symptoms as well. I am so depressed. I don't know what to do . I need to ring the clinic tomorrow and will let them know. I don't have any frozen eggs so if I am planning to do another IVF I need to go through all these process again. Oh my God, I can't even think about that. Can some one give me some advice. How long I have to wait to start the cycle again?

I hope everything went well. I am a gestation carrier and went for my first ivf on August 30, Just found out yesterday that I was not pregnant. It was very hard to take. It is almost feeling like a failure to the couple that I am going to be carrying a baby for. I am still waiting on the agency that I am working with to tell me what the next step is and how long do I have to wait until I can go and try it again. I am just hoping that the second time around is a successful one. This is very stressful and hard for anyone in my family to understand. Even though it is not my baby, I am still upset that I am not pregnant. All these months of planning this for a negative result was just heartbreaking.

Our first round of IVF failed.  It was a fresh cycle.  However, our second round, which was a frozen transfer, worked and now we are 31 weeks pregnant!  We only had one embryo survive the freeze/thaw process and it was still successful! So there's hope!

My first IVF attempt failed today.  I am absolutely saddened by this and am having a hard time processing this new information  I am not sure what the future will hold - we have 4 frozen embryos - but I am not sure if we will attempt this again.

YES!  Our first round of IVF with our textbook "perfect" embies was unsuccessful.  It didn't take.  But our second round took and now I'm 21 weeks pregnant!!  Our second try was with our frozen embies.  We only had ONE little guy survive the freeze/thaw process and it WORKED!  So miracles happen!  Don't give up hope!

I just finished my first round of ivf and had a negative result.. it was devastating for me and my husband since we've had 3 ectopics and now this. My in laws told me that my father in laws boss's sis went through 2 rounds of ivf. She wasn't successful the first time, but she had twins after the second time. One of my friends cousins was also in the same situation, but she had a boy. I've been reading up on it a lot because we r planning on doing it again. I talk to my doc tommorow, I hope this helps. Try not to lose faith, I will pray for u and everyone else having trouble concieving a child... Good luck..

Hello I am new to IVF and to this forum. I am 44yo... I had 6 eggs collected 4 fertilised and 2 transferred on day 3...one 12 cell and one 8 cell. The other 2 didn't make it to cryo :-(. Yesterday AF came to visit (day 12 after tf) and I am feeling completely devastated....BUT.... the more I read this site the more positive I feel about picking myself up, dusting myself off and starting again. You ladies are a true inspiration.

Yes. Our first cycle failed and we had no embryos to freeze so we had to do a complete fresh cycle the second time around. My clinic changed the drug protocal as I am a fast responder. We also went with ICSI and assisted hatching the second time around. I am the proud momma of a 16 month old son now. It is possible, but I know how hard it is to keep positive.

hi well i will be trying again but this time in ceptember am not that strong to start right away.am going on vacation on july 15th and will be back on july26th  i have to 5 day blastocyst frozen so we will be transfering my little embryos sometime in ceptember. i think that it will be better for me not to take all those meds.
i will be praying for you and me to be mommys very soon.

also my doctor said he is running alot of blood test that will help determine that nothing else is wrong before we do the transfer.

love

hello, firstly my dr's said as my miscarriage was so early it is a similar situation to yourself, the embie didnt stick or did for a very short time then came away. I have been told it was nothing to do with any lifting or over doing things(the day before i miscarried i did alot of rushing around and lifting which i know i shouldnt have), anyway my dr said it was probably something to do with the chromosomes, it wasnt right so didnt stick. Our second ivf which we start in 3 weeks will be fresh(i had no good eggs to freeze, only produced 4 and 2 were fragmented)so we have to go through all the meds again. It wasnt too bad just alittle bruising last time, but because of my age 40, and my egg production is small, i am really trying to remain positive. Are you going to try again, if so, when, best wishes on what ever you decide, lots love melissax

Hello, i'm sort of in the same boat as yourself in the fact our first ivf ended in early miscarriage(5 weeks) and we about to embark on a second and final attempt in 3 weeks(awaiting for a cyst to go caused by damn clomid).
How was your first attempt a failure, did you get BFN or did you miscarry or have a chemical?
I too would like to hear form anyone who has had success after either an early miscarriage or failed first attempt. many thanks melissa
