First IVF question about OHSS

Hi Everyone,

My HB and I have been triing for our second for five years we have tried all but IVF. Started IVF cycle in Sept currently day 9 meds are Lupron, GonlF, Menopur - dn with PCOS over 10yrs ago.  I have over 20 eggs 10 of which are growing but doc said they worry about OHSS because they grew so fast.  If this happens will they still be able to proceed with retrival and embryo transfer? All who can help would be great....Good Luck to all...

Not sure what your estrogen level should be?  they never told me estrogen and progesterone levels....guess they thought that was for them to worry about!  Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.....

Thanks so much for your help and congrats on your BFP. They lowered my meds and my folies shrunk a bit but had u/s and b/w today and they grew again so I am hoping that this works it is DH and my last try for second babe. I still have to take HCG which could make this worse from what I have read....Have u/s and b/w again tomorow will see if they grew more...What is good estrogen level tomorow will be day 11? 12 folies have grown over 1 cm 5 are 1.5cm not sure if this info helps

Hi, I am now 8 wks preggo from an IVF cycle and I DID have OHSS after egg retrieval, it started about 8 days post retrieval.  When I went to see him for the OHSS, he told us that he almost cancelled our cycle due to my estrogen level being high (bloodwork).  I imagine that your doc is keeping a close eye on that and will have to determine his decision from your bloodwork and you US.  I had mild to moderate OHSS, and am still having some complications from it (pain and bloating), but it has gotten so much better.....now, I only look 4 months preggo....I did look about 6 months preggo at the height of OHSS......luckily, they did not have to drain fluid from my abdomen.  Good luck to you and I hope I helped....feel free to ask me any questions....
