Ask your dr about taking GLUCAPHAGE along with the Clomid..I have PCOS too..and got pregant on first round of IVF after using glucaphage..and had 2 failed cycles without using it. ALso have many friends with PCOS that has been successful using Glucaphage along with fertility meds! Good luck to you!!
I have PCOS and was taking clomid 50 mg than 100mg and than 150 mg and not one time for the 5 months I was taking it did I ovulate. And my levels were only .6 no higher. so I decided to move on. I went and seen a RE and he said I can get ovarian drilling, or IVF. He would have done IUI but with IVF. He said I would overstimulate and he needed the control to take them out. So we did our first round of IVF and thankfully im fianlly pregnant after a yr of trying with naturaly and clomid. Good luck and just like sherrycoup said with PCOS we can get pregnant it just takes us alot longer and with alot more help. You just have to be patient. and have yourself a plan B. Clomid doesnt work for everyone with PCOS. You should talk to your dr about getting on metformin. It can help you. Good luck
Marsha - your story is similar to mine. My dr kept giving me birthcontrol to help regulate my periods (I too have PCOS). The best advice I can give from my OWN experience is to NOT take bc - it PREVENTS pregnancy and did NOTHING to regulate my periods! Provera and Clomid did the trick to regulate me after a few cycles. I then took a cycle off the meds and ended up preggo. I am now 22 weeks along with a beautiful little girl. Oh, and I'm 29 as well. There is hope. Just find a good dr that knows and understands what you are going through. Good luck hun! :)
Im in the same boat as you. I too have a 5 yr old that I concieved with no meds and wasn't even trying. After 1 1/2 years of trying I was diag with PCOS also. I have done 8 rounds of clomid at 100mg and im trying a med free month right now. Alot of women still get preggy with pcos it just takes us alot longer and harder. I am lucky I have been ovulating just not getting preggo. Im hoping it happens soon :) im in my tww right now so hopefully some good new in 2 weeks :) GL and SSBD
