My DH has a low sperm count and we are going to be using clomid with our first IUI. My RE said it's like playing darts. With Clomid there will most likely be 2 targets instead of 1 so your odds are better. Good Luck:)
I disagree that Clomid is a really harsh medicine. It does cause cysts in some
women but plenty of women have had a lot of success with it and didn't develop any cysts at all.
Clomid is a really harsh madicine ~ it produced cysts with me and alot of others ~ research it on here ~ what dose are you on?.....
IUI's they usually do have you BD TWO days before and after the IUI just to reinforce everything ~ be sure to ask them for an ultrasound before the IUI to be sure the follicle released ~ did they give you the sizes of the follicles & your lining..??..best to keep a journal and ask questions (that you find out on here to ask) instead of just going in and trusting al they do/say ~
GOOD LUCK!!!!...when are you scheduled...????
Clomid can improve your chances by helping you release more than one egg. You can have IUI w/o clomid but your chances will be higher on a medicated cycle.
Good luck!
I don't know much about IUI but I wanted to say welcome to this forum. I've been out here for about a year and a half. It's a wonderful place for support and a safe place to vent where people really understand and won't judge. I hope you find it to be the same for you.
