clomid/hcg shot/iui

Hi ladies! I just started my first day of clomid yesterday( cd 4) and am scheduled to go back to my RE's on april 1 to do another u/s to make sure my follies are at the right size. Then when everything looks good( WHICH I'M HOPING) I will be given an hcg shot to trigger my ovulation. Then my iui is scheduled on the 3rd. I have so many questions, since this is my first time ever doing this. Do i give the shot to myself or does the RE do it? I've read on so many sites that you do it yourself? Just wondering because my appmt is at 8 am and if my RE gives my the shot, my iui will be 48 hours later. Is that right? I read that iui's were normally performed 36 hours after the shot. I just don't want anything to get messed up, b/c a baby is all i've ever wanted! I guess i should tell you... I gave birth to my daughter Dec. 17, 2007 and she was born still. I've been an emotional wreck ever since, and am having a VERY hard time not having her here with me, like she is supposed to be. I love her and miss her very much, and am NOT AT ALL trying to replace her by trying to get pregnant again. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thank You!

Hey, just wanted to let you know i went to RE's again today to see if i ovulated, and i did! He said everything looked great! My lining on thurs was only at 6.5mm and today was 10.8mm so it's now perfect for baby! Now on the 2ww, so hopefully it ends with a good result! He said if i concieved it probably happened last night, or is happening right now! So my fingers are crossed!

You are so sweet to think of me! Everything went perfect today! Dh's sperm count was 45 million(after the wash)  and his motility was great! It was only a little uncomfortable for me too, but well worth it. I go back in the morning for another u/s to make sure i did ovulate, and then we just wait, i guess. I feel like i did ovulate because my cm is much more abundant today, and my side has been hurting. Good luck on the 14th! Let me know how everything goes for you, and i will keep you posted. I hope everything went well today. The IUI was only alittle uncomfortable for me and I cramped alittle afterwards but other than that it was great. i go back on the 14th for another u/s and will probably find out when I am having the IUI. I hope the 2ww goes by very quick for you. Oh i had to take 2 shots because of my weight.

I was going to ask you... how does the iui feel? I've read on other forums that girls were cramping for a week afterwords, and all kinds of other stuff. Is it uncomfortable, did you cramp and if you did for how long? My RE said it's not painful, and he's very gentle  but these girls have got me a little scared. What dosage clomid are you on? I wish i could develop that many follies! Also, how come you take 2 shots? Yay for us tomorrow! You start your clomid and i get my trigger shot! I'll be praying for both of us that we both get our bfp this month! ( this was my lucky month 1 year ago!) Talk to ya soon!!

Godd luck to you on your IUI Monday. I pray that everything goes great. My u/s looked perfect so I will start the clomid on sat. Hope everything goes great for both of us this month and we both get the BFP that we want and deserve.

So... i got good news today! My follie that was 14mm grew to 17.5, but my 9 stayed. I was really hoping for more than 1 egg, but that's ok. It only takes one! So now i will give myself the shot on sat night at 10 and then monday morning we will do the iui. Even if it doesn't work this time, next month will hopefully be better because i will be on a higher dosage, and hopefully will result in 2 or 3 eggs. My RE says that my follie will get to the perfect size by my iui, so i hope he's right! Good luck tomorrow on your u/s. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Best of luck to you. I go tomorrow for my 1st u/s to make sure everything is ok. I am going to ask them how do they know that I o'ed because they didn't do any additional test. I will be praying for you.

I WISH i was 1dpiui, but i'm not!!  I forgot to tell you... I went to my RE on tuesday, and guess what!!! My follies were not ready yet. I had two that were maturing one at 14mm and one at 9mm. So now i have to go back tomorrow, and hopefully they will be ready by then. If not, I think i will wait until next month to do my iui because for one, insurance doesn't pay for it, for two, i'd rather have more mature eggs than 1( my RE said next month, if i don't get pregnant this month, he will up my dose to 100 instead of 50) and we can still try on our own this month without the iui. But we will know more tomorrow, i'm hopeful but also realistic, so we'll see. I'll let you know. And btw, good, i'm glad your doing another iui. This could possibly be your month! Talk to ya soon!

Good luck so I guess you are 1DPIUI now. Hope the 2WW goes by quick. I was not going to do it again this month but I changed my mind since I found out my insurance will pay for everything except the actual IUI. I'm not sure when I will start I just started spotting today. Best of Luck to you and I will be praying for you.

Aww....I was hoping you would get your positive!! But don't worry, you will get it! Just stay positive! Will you try again next month with the iui again? I'm definately going to if it doesn't work this time. I'll keep going till i get my baby, or babies. ( They say if you already ovulate and take clomid, you have a higher chance of multiples. We'll see if that's true or not) I'm so excited, i'm getting ready to go now. I just wanted to see if you got your BFP first. Thank you for your prayers, and i will keep you updated. I got a neg today but AF still hasn't come. My follies at CD13 were 4-17mm, 1-16mm, and 1-15mm. Had trigger shop CD15 and IUI CD17.

Yes this will be my first iui. Hopefully it will work the first time, because we're just doing it to get pregnant faster. We've never had any problems getting pregnant, just problems getting to keep our babies. ( First pregnancy ended in a m/c at 8 weeks, and our kayln was born still at 36 weeks). So... how did it go today? My fingers are crossed for you, because that will definately give everyone hope if you do get pregnant, being as it was also your first time. I'm very excited to go to the RE tomorrow, and see how many follies i have. Just curious, how big were your 6 follies? Good luck!!

Thanks i am pretty excited because AF has not shown yet and it is CD30 and she usually comes on CD28. I did take a hpt on CD28 and it was BFN but I know that it could just be that I didn't have enough HCG to show.

I'm so excited b/c i go on apr 1st to do an u/s and see how many follies developed. Then, i found out, i give myself the hcg shot that night then go for iui on the 3rd. I can't wait!!

luvkayin-Sorry about your loss but I truely believe everything happens for a reason. This was also my first time to try IUI and I am now 9DPIUI just waiting on blood test on the 31st. I had a u/s on CD13 with 6 follies, I then gave myself 2 ovidrel shots on CD15 at 10pm. I had my IUI 36 hrs later on CD17 @10am. So I do think each RE is different. Best of luck to you.

I am doing exactly what you are....I did 50 mg of clomid last month with trigger and timed intercourse, didn't work...so just yesterday we did IUI.  Same thing except upped the dosage to 100 mg cd 3-7, u/s on day 10, had four follies and did injection on day 11 at 8:30 pm and had IUI yesterday on cd 13 at 10:00 am.  I did the injection myself....I think it just depends.  My RE is two hours away...I go to his satellite office so they are only there once a month...actually a nurse friend came over and did it both months.  Like bny807 said, I htink most RE's shoot for the 36 mark!
So sorry to hear about your loss....I know the baby can never be replaced...you are in my prayers!

I"m so sorry to hear about your loss!   I hope that this IUI and cycle will get you a BFP!    I just did my first cycle medicated as well, I did femara cd3-7, then follie check (had a great follie 22mm) and then did a trigger at that time (the RE's RN did the injection - it was ovidrel, no big deal, they just injected it into my belly) then about 26 hours later went back for IUI.... It sounds like each RE is different as far as giving the shot, weather you do it or they do it... either way its not a big deal. The ovidrel you didn' thave to mix anything or anything like that so it was pretty straight forward. It seems like most RE's try to aim for the 36 hour mark, but It looked like I was pushing out the egg early on my own, so we did it only 24 hours later.. and now doing progesterone.. anyhow good luck!  keep us updated and let me know if you have any questions that I can hlep you with!
