I think I'm peri menopausal - EXACTLY like pg symptoms - Not fair :o(

The "Old Timers" here know me, but I think most of you probably don't as I'm not our here much since my DH and I stopped TTC in Jan 2010. We are in the adoption process, though, and we're crazy-excited!!

It seems I'm going through the beginnings of menopause :0( I'm seeing my PCP on Monday Jan 24 and a new GYN on March 1st. I couldn't get an earlier appointment with either of them.

About 4-5 months ago AF got really really light with one day of "normal" bleeding. Today I'm cd 33 and no AF. I did 4 or 5 FRERs a couple of days ago and they were all negative. I didn't think I was pg because our doc said we had next to no chance about 2 years ago.

These symptoms are exactly like pg symptoms! Incredibly sore bbs, like an intense burning sensation, sharp cramps, wicked gas, (sorry!) headaches every day, lower back pain, and increased appetite.

I've got all the symptoms of AF and pregnancy yet I got nothin'! I asked myself if I feel old because of going through "The Change" at 43, but the truth is, I feel more like 33, and look about that, too! I just feel physically cruddy and  want to feel "normal" again.

Ho Hum...

hi sueGre

as you said; i am new here. i dont know you much. i might ask few silly questions. do you have any baby already and trying for another? did you go through the IVF already? 43 is too early for menopause; so it may not be that; with these advanced treatements; i think there is always a hope for our own baby; am sure you must have tried out the options available out there.

anyway; take care; good luck with whatever you do; wish you the happiness always.

by the way;my ICSI IVF starts next month. so fingers crossed.
bye

I was told by two diff. drs I was in early menopause.(I have an autoimmune disease that can do that but at 36 I was not believing it)  However, they were wrong, turns out I had endometriosis, ovarian cysts,a polyp in my uterus, and my lining was way too thick.  My cycles began to act crazy, some were short some were long, would have very sore bbs, increased appetite, etc.  After surgery, everything went back to normal and my fsh level even improved and with meds we were able to get pg(i am now 34 weeks) after 2 docs told me no way and my ob also said no way.  Anyway, get another opinion or two or 3 or 4 like I did.lol.  I have come to realize drs. dont know everything and they will dismiss you if they dont think they can help.  I guess they thought I would be happy with whatever they told me! WRONG!  Congrats on the adoption process.  I have some friends who are adopting their second little boy.  Good luck to you.

No fair is right. I took DHEA for a while and my AF was a bit more like the ol' days. It is touted by some as an overall "fountain of youth". I stopped taking it but for about 6 months I felt different. Nice to see your face.
