IUI Drug Cost and Sucess

Hello, I am 32yrs old and I am trying to conceive. I have pcos in 1 ovary and do not ovaluate or have normal period for that matter. I am hoping to be sucessful with an IUI and would like soem insight on cost. I would also like for someone to share their success if they have pcos. I can not afford to have IVF and the thought of saving just for an IVF get me depressed so I am putting ALL my hope in having a sucessful IUI.

Well since you live in WI as well I'll tell you that I live in the Fox Cities and my IUI's cost about $280-$300 an IUI. It really depends on where you go but that's about the range. When I was taking clomid it was around $25 from Walgreens. I have already done 6 IUI's without any luck. I go in for a lap in May and see if I have endo. After that we will be starting injections which my doc told me costs about $2000 itself.

I think the cheapest fertility drug us clomid. You can get it really cheap through Walmart (it's on their $9 prescription plan).

My 5 days of Clomid was around $35 dollars.  The IUI which includes sperm washing was around $260.
I ended up doing injectables and got those overseas from London as recommended by my RE...saved me a lot of money.
Fortunately, my insurance covers lab work and u/s as both can be attributed to any female problem.
I do not have PCOS.  My third IUI with injectables was a success.

I was diagnosed w/ PCOS in 2006 and also have endometriosis to boot. I would usually have a period 2-4 times a year when not on the pill let alone the ovulation part of it. I had a laparoscopy in Feb. of 2006 to remove endo and a cyst. My GYN wanted us to try one more natural cycle and it was a BFN so he sent us to our RE. I had my tubes flushed right away, was monitored by ultrasound for my O and had IUI done - got pregnant the first time. The only drug was progesterone supp. after my O and the first 3 months of pregnancy.
This time it's been a bit harder. We've been trying natural since May 2007, and went back to the RE in Sept. and I had another flush and started Clomid 25mg.  My Clomid is now upped to 50 mg and I also recieved trigger shots this last cycle got p/g but m/c right away.
Our insurance covers the ultrasounds and diagnostic x-rays. My Clomid (not generic) is $76.00 at Walgreens, hCG tests at my RE's office is $60 or $65. IUI we pay I think $195.00 each IUI and usually two IUI are done per cyle. I'm not sure how much anyone else pays, and I'm located in OH.
Keep us posted and GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!! Stay positive....
