IUI for first time

Okay ive just finished 8 rounds of clomid at 100mg and still not preggy so i told my ob that i wanted to try iui but he told me that its not worth it to do iui by itself or with clomid and that I ned to do injectables???  Does this sound right?  The cost of iui with inject would be $1300.00 and I don't have a drug plan at the moment (im looking into getting one)  Has Anyone done iui with clomid only and been sucessful?

Im in Ontario(Canada) and I found one at Manulife that covers fertility drugs and cost is $74.00/Mth :)  so i signed up I will find out if approved int he next couple weeks and hopfully up by Jan 1 :)  Just look around I think all health Ins covers it its just an enhanced package that you need.  The basic would not cover

Hi Sherry,

I am doing the injectables now...on round three but using letrozole, instead of clomid.  The cost sounds about right (unfortunately).  I have been told that the IUI success rates are better in round 3 and 4, once you get used to the drug combo.  I have been trying to find an insurance plan that covers fertility as well.  Keep me posted if you find a good drug plan :)

Hi Sherry, I only did the trigger injection with clomid and it worked. Mine was right about $1200 as well since my insurance doesn't cover infertility. Hope you have good luck with this, it will be worth it!
