So here is my question. I recently quit smoking cigaretts, yes I know they are bad! Evil actually. I used the patch to quit (nicoderm cq) i am still on the lowest dose of the patch. The doc says its ok to do all of these proceedures for IVF on the patch but I was wondering if anyone has heard of this being ok, or if I should get a second doctors opinion etc. I am sure all of you ladies are non smokers (ttc'ers all know its bad to smoke) ;however I wonder if anyone is in the same boat as me. If so advice is much appreciated.

thanks, it was the hardest thing i think i have had to ever do so far in my life, and the patch is the only thing that has ever worked for me. i just don't want to take it off and relapse back to smoking, but at the same time i worried about complications of the meds etc. doc says its fine, i just assumed they hadn't studied it much. i don't know anyone who has done the proceedures on the patch.

first of all a big fat congrats on quitting, not everyone on here has quit, and some of us are now smoke free  myself included, If RE says its ok to do IVF on patches i would say go for it, its the same concept as smoking, but with out all the added carcinogens.  good luck to you
