Is this normal????

I started metformin last weekend and desogen birth control pills last week.  Just today I noticed I am spotting old blood. My body is doing lots of weird things but the spotting scared me a little. Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks

I have been spotting/bleeding on and off on BC pill but kills me is that it upsets my stomach so much. I can't take it any more. I haven't been felt "normal" for a while. I am still waiting for the cyst to go away.

Oh man I know what you mean about the nausea. I have almost no appetite and when I do eat, even if it's only a tiny bit it's not pretty!
On the brighter side though-i think im losing a few inches :)
Thanks for you comment

My doctor also said spotting was normal from the birth control pills.  I only spotted for three or four days half way through the cycle, but the doctor always said to call if it continued for longer than a week or became a heavy flow so we could still make sure everything was ok.  I'm sure what you're going through is normal, although scary!

The only side effect I had with the meformin was extreme nausea that did go away about three weeks into it.  I just had to make sure I really watched the diet!

I was spotting so much on b/c!  My doc told me not to worry.  However, I was taking active b/c for over 7 weeks (because of my cyst) and it ruined most of my underwear  :(

Metformin can have nasty side-effects.  So sorry you have to deal with those  :(
