Lets compare medications utilised for IUI

hey all, Just thought of sharing the medication change etc that i have been prescribed by my RE for the 2nd round of IUI...Just wanted to post it here and then compare with the others going through the same process:ITs my CD2 today and visited the RE. Was also tested for FSH,LH,EZ,PRL,TSH the report is due for Thursday July 17,2008.

1stiui
CD2 till CD5 - Clomiphene Citrate(Clomid/Ovofar) once a day
CD6,7,8,9 - HMG injections everyday
CD10 - HCG Injection
CD11 and 12 - Consecutive IUI after washig DH sperms..

Failed did not work - I git my AF on 15DPIUI

2nd IUI - have been prescribed the following
CD2-CD5 - again clomiphene citrate tabs (Ovofar)
CD6,8,10 - HMG injections(note they reduced the frequency to avoid any chances of OHSS as I have PCO
Metformin 500  - supposed to take 3 tabs a day for 2 months
Folic Acid - once a day for a month
Caspy 50mg - once a day for a month.

After IUI will be on progesterone supplements too..this time....So well slight changes to my prescription though I was wondering why Metformin was prescribed to me?? I do not have Diabetes..any answers suggestions???

Metformin is commonly prescribed for PCO.... since they "think" that insulin resistance is a big factor in PCO, metformin has shown great results in helping ovulation and implantation in PCO patients! : )    sounds like your in good hands and have a good plan! I hope that this is your month for a long awaited BFP : )    Keep me updated!
