Thank  you sooo much your feedback really means a lot to me. I appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences. I hope it all works out too. I am just so emotional right now. Yeah I am excited to be starting IVF, I am sad too because I feel like I am being punished for having to go this route to have kids, I feel also a bit sad because if it doesn't work and I go thru all this I know I will be devastated too. I know i am trying to think positive as well, its not easy right now though, I just have gone thru a lot and didn't ever want to try IVF, talked myself into it and I am excited/scared and every other emotion under the sun.

I agree with the other ladies.  Teh shots are not nearly as bad as you think they are.  I am also needle phobic but I had no problem giving myself the shots.  I also had to mix menopur every time I give it to myself.  Mixing isn't that hard.  You get to be a pro at it.  The one side effect I encountered was being extremely tired.  HOpe this helps.

The injections can be a hassel most of all. Making sure you do them within a 2 hour time period each time. The Progestrone shots kinda hurt me. I'm a very petite person, so if you have a little more meat maybe it doesnt hurt as much. Im not sure. I have heard others say the same though. Your muscles get a little sore from the needles. The trigger shot is really easy to administer and doesn't hurt a bit. If/When you mix it, just make sure you do it very slowly as to not make the powder in the vial go all over the place. I haven't really noticed any bad side effects other than occasional cramping (like mild menstral cramps) from the progestrone suppositories, and injections. The hormones may also make you hungrier at times, or at least make you think your hungry. Progestrone is the most trickiest of the drugs, it gives you symptoms similar to a pregnancy. Hope this helps. Good luck on your journey. You will do great.

Hi,
Don't worry too much about the shots. They are not near as bad as they seem or look. The follistim pen is the easiest one. Progesterone is not scary either, that was the one that really freaked me out. That one was shockingly easy. About the HCG trigger, do you have to mix it yourself? My clinic mixed it for me. I'm sure they can do that for you on the day of your trigger if you want them to. I really didn't have any side effects other than diarrhea. I think that was from the follistim. My clinic said that side effect is really rare too. So I doubt you will get that. Other than that, I felt great. I hope you are getting excited. It's such an exciting time to be starting IVF. Good luck to you. I hope you get your bfp!
