BFP! Should I cancel my Hawaii trip?

2nd round of IVF worked!  We're finally pregnant!  It almost doesn't seem real.  Next week we have an 11 day trip in Hawaii planned where we were going to tell my husbands parents of our good news.  While there, I'd be totally relaxed and wouldn't swim (my clincs orders) but am nervous about the flying part.  We have a 5 hr flight to Oahu, a 1/2 hour island jumper to Kauai another 1/2 hour interisland flight to Maui and a 5 hr flight (plus 1 hr drive) home.  All of this spread out of course.  I'll be about 4 weeks then.  Now I'm having second thoughts about even going at all worrying about the possibility of misscarriage from flying.  I need your advice!

My doctor said that I can go on the Hawaii trip but can't swim.  So I am still going.  We go every year and it is such a relaxing trip for me.  I know being there will be good for me and I can finally spend some quality time with my husband who has been working alot.  Thanks for your advice!

Talk to your doc and do what you think is best.  Kauai is beautiful and it may be relaxing for you:-)

My gestational carrier flew right before her beta blood test and she was fine. She was pregnant at the time but didn't know it. Her flight was a six hour flight.

Ask your dr.  Mine advised me not to fly late in the pregnancy.

Every person is different and so the results too. If I were you, I would not risk flying after all the pain that I went trhough IVF. Think smart and take decision. I am not denying that some women are very ok even they flew long distances. I want to say 3 words 'Just be Careful'.

I flew early on with no problems.  With my first I flew 3 weeks before delivery and was in labor 3 days later.  Probably will hold off on flying late, but early on...I think you're probably ok.  I'd go with whatever you feel comfortable with.  Knowing me....if I had to go through 2 IVF's to get there, I'd probably postpone until after the first trimester and then go.  Good Luck.  Have fun.

I think it's ok to take a trip unless your doctor put you on bedrest.  The best is ask your doctor if you should cancel the trip or not.

Congratulation to you.  I think this trip of yours will worth a million dollars.

Take care

Most of the docs recommend not to fly during your first trimester. So use your instinct and make a decision accordingly.
