Low estradiol levels during IVF

So, today is my 4th day of stimming for IVF (I'm on 200 iu's of follistim a day) and my estradiol level was only 19!!!

The nurse called me, and I will now be on 400 iu's a day of follistim, but I'm still so so nervous that for some reason my body isn't reacting.

Has anyone else experienced this?  I do not need one more thing to worry about, and I'm really really worried. :-(

Thanks wishing4#2.  Being this is my first IVF, I'm definitely not an expert, but still being on .10ml, I do have the feeling I'm being over supressed right now.  I go in tomorrow for an ultrasound and more blood work, and I plan to bring this up to the nurse I see. (Unfortunately I NEVER see the doctor)

Thanks a lot for the reassuring comments.  I've been really stressed about this. :-(

I am on day 5 of stims today. I don't know what my E2 was today, but yesterday it was 180 and my doc was happy with that. I don't have today's levels back yet. This is my 2nd IVF. My first one the RE didn't go down on my lupron, kept me at 0.10ml per day, and I was over suppressed. This time I went down to 0.05ml a day, and I think it is better.  But the 1st IVF I still had a BFP, it just ended in chemical pregnancy. . .Anyway maybe talk to your RE about going down on the lupron.  Good luck!! I really hope it turns out to be an ok cycle with a BFP for you. We are pretty close in stim days. I am on 150 of Bravelle in the am, and then 75 of menopur and 75 of fostimon at night.. . I will keep reading for your updates. . .good luck!

I am on Lupron.  And I'm on 10 ml a day.  Most RE's have people go down to 5 ml a day once they start stimming, but my doc kept me on 10.  I have a feeling it is over supressing me.

Are you also taking Lupron?  Some women do not respond well while on Lupron...

Thanks for the comments.  I know people who had higher estradiol levels when their ovaries were resting.  19 seems SO low!  I just hope that I am a slow responder and that with the up'd meds, my levels will increase.  I'm only 29, so I can't imagine not responding to stims.  Who knows though.  Nothing would surprise me at this point. :-(

It happened to me -the cycle got cancelled but I really think I didn't respond because of my age (43 at the time) but I'm willing to bet w/the higher dose of Follistm, you'll respond and do okay - especially since you're young.

Try not to worry/stress too much.  I know how hard that is when you are going through an IVF cycle - I bet you'll be fine - jen

Perhaps you are a slow responder and your e2 takes time to go up.  This happened to someone I know.  She just had to stim longer.  I hope your next blood test will show a higher estradiol level.
