I was put on a Vitamin B/Mineral supplement after I had my second son, due to the MTHFR. Does anyone else have to take it? I am suppoed to take it for the rest of my life. I haven'thad insurance for four years and I can't remember for the life of me what it is called.

I have as well and take a baby aspirin and Metanx (B6, B12, folic acid in one pill) daily.  Doctor says I need to take for the rest of my life.

I have MTHFR. I have 2 mutations of c677T.  There is also another one that starts with an "A".  I am not sure if they treat them differently or not.
I take one baby aspiring daily (forever) and also folbic acid (prescription).  I hope this helps.

Thanks for responding. Sorry it took so long for me to come back. ;) I have no memory of the things I do. Anyway, I am still trying to figure out what that medicine is. I finally got my records and found out the medicine, but now it's not by RX. I can order it online. Not sure what I will do. I was going to just do what you did, but now I am hesitant. My G.P. has no clue! Do you take anything now for the M.T.H.F.R. ?

I have mthfr as well. I had 3 miscarriages after my first child. It was not possible for me to have any more children, Anyway, to treat the mthfr I buy the B12, B6, and folic acid separately. I have to tell you that I have been taking these for 7 years now, and recently found out that I had B6 toxicity. Before I found this out, I was having aching pain in my feet & calves, to where I had to just go to bed and stay off my feet. Then I started getting tingling and numbness in my feet. It then spread to my hands and wrists. After 2 MRIs and many blood tests I found that I had toxic levels of B6. Be careful with it. I dont' know what dose you are taking, but it can cause permanent nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy).
