No End in Sight

Hello,  I found out though ultrasound that i had a blighted ovum.. I am suppose to be 8 almost 9 weeks pregnant.  My doctor was the most uncaring person ever, he took a couple of swipes said "I see nothing, we'll get you beta go from there" and out the door he went.  I tried to call his office to see what our plans our because this is not comming out.  I have minor cramps, but i read that a blighted ovum still has strong amounts of hormones that go though your body,  a placenta may even form with no baby.   Can i get an infection if I dont pass this pregnancy soon?  How long should I wait?  If I have to have a D & C it will be my second, and one c-section.  Do you think that will cause too my scar tissue and possibly prevent another pregnancy from implanting?
Help please!

I am so sorry for what you are going through (and infuriated by your seemingly insensitive doctor!!)!  I am not sure that I can answer any of your questions, but I had a blighted ovum in Jan. 06.  Once it was officially determined, the RE sent me home with a Rx that was to help me mc the sac - I was to give it the weekend to work and call on Monday if it didn't!  Of course, it didn't and so I had a D&C scheduled on Tuesday.  There wasn't much to take out he said, so there was little bleeding, etc.  I had a laparoscopy about 8 months later and everything looked fantastic, so I don't think that I had any scarring or issues like that due to it!

I'm sorry that I can't be of more help!

I would wait if you can, because with any D&C there is the possibility of scar tissue.  I had a blighted ovum 1.5 years ago, I waited until 13 weeks.  I had a dr. like yours and changed right after.  My new dr. said I could wait unless infected (fever) or if I just couldnt' stand the wait any longer.
