Concerned

I had my follow up appt today and was told I need a hysteroscopy. Just wondering if anyone has had one, if you can let me  know what to expect. Dr. said I don't need any anesthesia, but I am concerned about experiencing too much pain.

The HSG is the dye test. The Hysteroscopy (which I've had) is they go through your cervix and up into the uterus to see if there's any problems.  I had a "spot" show up on an ultrasound so while they were doing my laparoscopy for endometriosis they did the hysteroscopy and found it was a poly in the middle of my uterus.  They removed it  with no problems, BUT I was also put to sleep for it all.  I'm not sure about how much pain you would experience, have they said anything about taking tylenol or anything like that for pain before hand?
I know before mine they made me take a "cytotec" the night before so it would allow me to dilate so they could do the procedure I'm assuming.  In case they get you to do that as well, be prepared for cramping.  You insert it into the vagina as far as your finger will reach and sleep  while it's in there.  I cramped quite a bit from this.  Anyways, good luck!! When are you supposed to have this done?  I hope you get good results!  Please keep us posted and if you have any questions feel free to inbox me or message me. :)

Hysteroscopy is the inspection of the uterine cavity by endoscopy with access through the cervix. It allows for the diagnosis of intrauterine pathology and serves as a method for surgical intervention (operative hysteroscopy).

I'm just now seeing this is from Jan, 13th and you've probably had this done by now, if so please let us know how it went. :)

A hysteroscopy is nothing to worry about it is simply iodine injected thru a cathader into your tubes to make sure they are flowing correctly. It takes about 5 minutes and u should be able to do all normal stuff within 20 min after.  It is a vidal part of getting prego naturally. just make sure your dr gives u a cbc-bloodwork before and take a few motrin the am of and follow up woth antibiotic to ward off any infection. they can tell you 90% sure if everything is good. its a 1st step in fertility. if all os good they will prescribe clomid to amp up your hormones and help u get preg "naturally" no real side effects pains or issues. Hope that helps
