hi my hubby and i been trying for baby num3 ive been off pill 4 almost 4 months now ive had regular periods for the last 3 and  my recent regular period 10 days ago and im bleeding again now for the last 2 days had sharp almost contraction pain came fast leave fast almost taking my breath away very yucky dark clotty thick looking period if its even one could ive had a misscarage im confused

thank you for your comment i stopped bleeding 2 days ago now i do feel ok but with what you said i will see my doc as i do know im due for a pap smere as well so ill get it check and will def let you know  thank you again been very helpful kristy

It can be due to a miscarriage because you had unprotected intercourse prior to that and that too can occur in contraceptive failure. However to differentiate this menstrual bleeding from a miscarriage, I would suggest you to do a urine for pregnancy test or get your serum HCG levels estimated. The HCG (it is a hormone) levels rise only in pregnancy and its levels are raised even for a few days after a miscarriage.

So HCG presence will confirm the status of your pregnancy. Once the status of pregnancy is clear then we can think about other possibilities. Other causes which need to be looked into are stress and anxiety, fluctuation in hormone levels, hypothyroidism & fibroid in the uterus. It could also be due to a genital infection or cervical polyps. For that you need to consult a gynecologist.
