Failed IVF questions

Yesterday I was 9 dpt and I started getting spots by late evening I had a large clot.  Since then I have been clotting a lot but not much blood.  I have a lot of questions.  My RE cannot speak to me before July 21st so hoping some one in this forum can help me.

If my cycle is messed up due to IVF then AF should start on July 2nd, if it is not messed up then AF should start on July 17 th.  I have always had a history of late period so this does not make sense.  If I am on progesterone should I be getting early AF ?  I am very confused


I am not bleeding much but a lot of clotting, no AF pains.  I am so concerned

Hi Sofi- Usually a failed IVF is because of no implantation which could be a chromosonal problem.  DH and I are going  for a blood test to eliminate that.  We are also doing another HSG to  make sure there is no cyst etc.  I was not very happy with my last HSG.  This is what I plan to eat.  Start taking a B Complex + my usual pre natal vits.  I want to make sure I ingest atleast 100 mg of B6 per day.    I will start eating 4-6 brazil nuts per day contains slenium.  I iwll also start eating pineapple core a day before transfer and continue with that 4 days after.  I did not rest after the last transfer so this time i plan to be on atleast 2 days bed rest.  My bmi after IVF is pretty low at 17.2 so I plan to increase that too.  I am also changing my accupuncturist.  Make sure that the vitamins include DHA.  I am going to try every thing I can control , the rest is in gods hand and I leav eit to him

I am so sorry my dear, I understand your pain.  I have been asking this same questions and I have been crying myself to sleep every night.  YOu are not alone in this.  

I wish I could help you but I am trying to learn from my last IVF failure and getting ready for my 2nd and hopefully final IVF.  Because in both our cases I am guessing implantation did not happen so I am to eat pineapple core and brazil nuts next time.  Keep my feet up and be on complete bed rest for 2-4 days what ever my work will allow.    My RE is also going to give me some low does estrogen to help with implantation.  I have heard that 2nd IVF is easier and more fruitful.  Lets just keep the faitrh.  Good luck.  If you need to talk I am here for you

I have the reults and yes I am not pregnant so it is offiial.  I spoke to a nurse and the only option they gave me was getting back on BCP for the next IVF.  I have a tele consult scheduled for next week

Can you talk to a nurse in your RE's office? You'd probably feel better if you could run this by someone there.

I don't think passing one large clot is necessarily definitive of a failed IVF.  You might just have had some bleeding that pooled and clotted, and finally came out.  Try staying off your feet and drinking a lot of water, and only getting up (if this is feasible in your life today or tomorrow) once the bleeding has been over for about 24 hours.  It won't make an embryo implant that is not implanting, but it will cause your uterus to stop contracting, which might stop the bleeding if it has a different cause.  Good luck!

Progesterone should keep AF away but I know lots of ladies on this forum who started spotting early even before they stopped progesterone injections.

I am so very sorry your ivf failed.  I know it's so difficult to bear...

p.s. Did you have your beta that confermed your bfn?  If not you should keep taking progesterone since many people spot in the first trimester.
