Things To Stop During 2WW.

mhv
I was just wondering what instructions you were given by your RE (or doctor)  to follow for your 2 week wait after your IVF, IUI, FET?
I guess what I'm asking is what did they tell you to stop.
My RE advises to rest for the first 24hrs after, and no intercourse during the 2WW.  I have read on the internet that you should not take a bath for 48hrs after, but was curious what you ladies have been told.
Any input would be much appreciated.

Tons of Baby Dust and Sticky Babies to all!!!!!!!

Thanks,
Melissa

I actually had a scoop, but when hubby bought new dog food he threw it out with the old bag? I don't know how he managed that!

I am still feeling the cramping, which its not normal for me. I don't usually get cramps. I have been feeling twinges of pain and have been achey since I had the IUI. I am not sure if its because I had more follies? It seems to be a bit better today. My boobs are a bit sore, but that IS normal for me. I had a couple bouts of nausea today but that could be from all the food I am shoving in! I swear I have gained close to 10 pounds since I started this!!! How are you?

It's always good to have Hubby help but why don't you just get a big scoop for the dog food & then you wont have to lift the bag.

How are you feeling? Any symptons? Or is it the normal cramping, anything out of the ordinary?

I have had 2 IUI's.  Both times they said I could return to normal activity same day and back to work etc.  They also encourage sex the day of the IUI to get more spermies up there.  The no bath thing sounds like a good idea as well.  I continued with housework, etc.  But, have not been able to get pregnant yet. So, this time I think I will take it MUCH EASIER.....

Good Idea!  No heavy lifting!!!  And, the Honey-do-list : )
See, I thought this would be a good idea for sharing.
Question, does anyone know if you should refrain from laying on your stomach during the 2ww?

I am all for resting, but I can not imagine not working. I think that would make the tww seem even longer!!! This post did get me thinking though, I should be careful with what I do around the house. I was lifting the 20+ pound of dog food before reading this, and now I make dh do it! And it gives me an excuse to make "honey do" lists! I am thinking I should be able to keep this going if I get a bfp! haha- besides its good preperation for dh, cuz when the baby finally comes, I will need an extra pair of hands around the house!

Hope everyone is feeling well!

I know what you mean, I think I did some things wrong on my first FET ,shortly after my 2ww, but I went bike riding and really didn't take it easy.... I surely will be this time!  I have to work too, but other then that, I think I'll be laying low for  first 2WW's and 2 months if it works!

One of my friends conceived this month after IUI. She took lot of rest in the 2ww. She wasn't going out of her home and taking it easy. But how is this possible for a working woman! It's impossible to eliminate work related stress. Am really confused.

My RE said i could resume everything i was doing after my IUI and since i have a toddler - i couldn't really rest. He also said no baths or showers for 24 hours and we were to have sex after my IUI but he never said no intercourse during the 2ww but maybe it's different for IVF. Anyway - my IUI didn't work.:(

Claud9 - how long had you been trying before getting the BFP on your own? I love your story - all set for IVF and then getting a BFP before starting!

As soon as i started IVF injections, i stop working.  When we found out im BFP, i stop all housework.  My husband cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner and my snacks.  My DH is conservative, he said no sex till after 5months-20 weeks. This is our first baby, after TTC of 5 yrs. I walked about 20 minutes a day, but i think not working is so good for me. NO stress.

I am running straight home to tell DH that he is in charge of all the housework until further notice!!! lol- In truth, he is already pretty good about having me take it easy during this tww.

MY RE is super conservative not just in the 2ww but also early BFP stage. "Keep the uterus quiet" he say. No vacuuming. No stomach crunches. No orgasm. Nothing that uses those muscles. LOL come to think of it - not having to vacuum or exercise is an orgasm :)

Hiya
I was told no intercourse abd to take it easy for about four to five days, no baths at all and only small amounts of gentle exercise. my husband wouldnt let me move from the couch so i took a week off work and did not a thing. I wasnt allowed to cook clean or do anything ( now that were BFP hes doing everything and im still not allowed to cook but i think hes hates my cooking!) Im only doing gentle walking about 10 mins a day as im so scared about moving anything. The main thing is not to do soemthing that may shake or move the embryos. hope this helps baby dust and sticky babes to all xxx

I found that my RE is extremely cautious. My instructions for IVF (even though I had to cancel because we got pregnant on our own) were that on the day of the transfer till day 3 complete bed rest only to get up to go to the restroom. On day 4 and 5 moderate activity but to remain indoors, Day 6 start to resume normal activity but not to over do it. He has you take a week off from work no excuses. Additionally no intercourse.

Good Luck!

Just relax.  Take it easy.  RE told me to take it light. First day I rested watch movies.  Second day outside .  if this was in the natural you would have continue doing the norm.
